work-ex.-forMBA/any B school products
by N.MURUGESAN on Jul 21, 2006 12:19 PM  Permalink

I personally feel that an assorted training in various fields in the actual working atmosphere must be included in the curriculam itself before coferring a degree. That should be given maximum weightage in rating the student's performance.

Is work-ex preferred for an MBA?
by sans on Jul 21, 2006 12:19 PM  Permalink

Well, we seem to misunderstand the basic concept of MBA. today an MBA means fat packets and people seem to have forgotten that its something related to business.
we are creating more managers than leaders today..
Its supposed to be a business administration course.
People who are freshers and wherever they may join ... are not going to be on the same page as a guy whos been workin for 2-3 years...
One might seem confident , ready to take up challenges but in realuty it doesnt work out that way.
PGPX - A course introduces by the IIMs is something which i would call really impressive.
MBA itself is more of a business today than education so it would be unwanted to talk abt freshers and all... as i said before .. its all about fat packets .. no one can teach leadership... its always within u (if u have it) and can only be honed by experience ...

Is work-ex preferred for an MBA?
by Sannidhya Sobti on Jul 21, 2006 12:14 PM  Permalink

hi
this is really a very intriguing question and guess different people will have different reviews.i completed my graduation last year and like many others wanted to do mba.
but the real question in my mind was that am i ready for mba.i mean after mba i will be at the helm of taking important decisions of the company ,managing the financial or marketing or hr or whatever aspects of the company.
i guess this is the question every fresher must ask him/her self.afterall it is only you and not somebody else to decide when you r ready for an mba.

guess it should help a little bit.
best of luck to all the mba aspirants out there.
