Well for once IIM aluminus have to get out of the clout that theres nothing better than IIM.IIMs tries to select people from various field but they all are neophytes, when u compare them to ISB for the experience that u gain while working cant be compared with the books. So although IIM selects people from different field as more then 70 percent students out there are with less than 2yrs exp.So no comparision on that front with ISB who selects bulk of its students with more than 4yrs.And finally ISB shouldnt ever compare itself from the package point of view and job offer point of view to IIMs.They are far ahead from that respect to ISB.Although they might have got a student with highest salary last yr in international placement, but then its always the overall placement that counts. And finally i am not a alumini of either institution for i believe " B-schools can't teach you visionary leadership" This article can also be accessed if you copy and paste the entire address below into your web browser. http://www.rediff.com/money/2006/jul/04bschool.htm
I am an alum of ISb (Class of 2006). Although the article does explain the differences between ISb and IIM\\\\\\\'s, it misses out on one crucial aspect. ISB is the only place where you can interact with people from extremely diverse backgrounds... Who else to teach you better about ledership than an Sqdn Ldr from the Indian Airforce or a decorated veteran from Kargil... Similarly you have people with successfull Enterprenuerial backgrounds , Research scholars etc ... This mix which misses badly in the IIM\\\\\\\'s goes a long way in making the experience a lot more enriching.

To do justice to ur argument you need to have an adequate exposure to both the curriculums. I am a student of IIM Ahmedabad and I can state unequivocally that your contention is wrong. IIM A for one has guest lectures by successful entrepreneurs and leaders in diverse fields. As for your statement regarding diversity of backgrounds the very nature of the admission process ensures a diverse mix of students. In short watch your words my friend.

Hello Mr.IIM-A, No one is contesting the fact that IIM-A is (still) the premier MBA institute in India. But if your sole claim to fame is organising guest lectures, then buddy you better start looking over your shoulder. These kind of things are passe. The world has moved on.
Also, to say that the IIMs have a more diverse background than ISB, flies in the face of accepted facts. You might want to revisit your sources of data. Have you boys at IIM-A heard of a thing called \\\"work experience\\\"? It is something you get when u actually start WORKING. But I guess that you will only come across it after you graduate. A pity.
Do you know what was the biggest mistake that Coke made? It was to start comparing itself with Pepsi & hence acknowledge that it was a serious competitor. Your outburst seems to display a sign of nervousness, maybe even panic, that your days as India\\\'s leading B school are numbered. But relax my friend, ISB is based on a different model. They are not comparing themselves to you. Why do you feel the need to run them down?
The article starts as if its going to compare IIms and ISBs. But it is more of a marketing material of ISB. I have no qualms against it but the author should state it upfront.

I do think the author should take some lessons on Reading Comprehensions of GMAT preparation. If after reading the passaghe any body is asked to select a title to the passage no jerk could have selected " How Different is ISB". A more appropriate title would be ISB Brochure - Rewritten.... with all due respect to the author
