you can survive with the initial money. while your studies you can work 20hrs and earn some money. After 1 yrs you can do paid intership.
I want to pursue MS in Embedded Systems(ES). But I fail to find a concrete MS program. There are few courses related to ES in some colleges. How do I go about selecting a course and college for MS?
Hi. I have 5 years of work experience with a leading BPO in India. Have many rewards to my credit. Can I get a job in Customer Care in outsourcing in USA.
First of all let me tell you that it's good to see clear cut answers to almost all questions.
My acads are 10th(88%),Inter(86%),Bsc computer science(75%), MCA (74%).
I have been working in Cognizant, India for 2+ yrs and now in US for about 1+ months time on a short term project.
I like more of a research kind of work where in I need to ask questions to a lot of people find answers , consolidate them, find missed stuff, and arrive decisions. So I am thinking it would be good if I do a Ph.D. in US.
Could you please help me out in this regard and let me know if my decision is correct. Or suggest anything else. I'am open to any criticism/suggestions on this mail.
If Ph.D. is correct, What are the things I need to do. What exams and what scores I need to obtain. Where to look for the details of those exams and Can we write them online. What visa to convert to and how? Please note that I am in US on a L1-visa.
RE:MEDICAL POST GRADUATION

For being able to join a PG training program in the US, one has to be certified by the ECFMG (Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates). To get the certificate, one has to clear 3 exams, USMLE Step1, Step2-CK and Step2-CS. The first two exams are MCQ exams that cover all the subjects that are a part of the medical education. These 2 exams can be taken in India itself at prometric testing centres. The third exam is a practical exam designed to assess one's communication, history-taking and physical examination skills. The approximate fees for the exams are around Rs.36,000, Rs.40,000 and Rs.60,000 respectively. My guess would be that the total cost till the time one actually enters the residency is around Rs.5-6 lakh. After clearing the exams and getting the certiicate, the application for a PG residency is an online process, followed by interviews at the programs that give an interview call.
The entire process would take atleast a year- usually, 2 years. For more information, visit the following sites:

The following are fora where you can post your questions and get other information:
isurance is very important in US. especially now most of the schools have made it mandatory. some even insist ( or the better word is force) to accept and enroll the insurance which the university offers. although people are against it. Lot of students are protesting it. they have strict reservations about what kind of insurance they would accept. the bottomline is wait and see what kind of insurance the university recommends and if they give any lee way u can then buy a cheaper insurance.better not to end up having two insurances.
