Phd in US
by Saradakanth on Aug 05, 2006 10:58 PM

Hi Rediff-Panel Members,

First of all let me tell you that it's good to see clear cut answers to almost all questions.

My acads are 10th(88%),Inter(86%),Bsc computer science(75%), MCA (74%).

I have been working in Cognizant, India for 2+ yrs and now in US for about 1+ months time on a short term project.

I like more of a research kind of work where in I need to ask questions to a lot of people find answers , consolidate them, find missed stuff, and arrive decisions. So I am thinking it would be good if I do a Ph.D. in US.

Could you please help me out in this regard and let me know if my decision is correct. Or suggest anything else. I'am open to any criticism/suggestions on this mail.

If Ph.D. is correct, What are the things I need to do. What exams and what scores I need to obtain. Where to look for the details of those exams and Can we write them online. What visa to convert to and how? Please note that I am in US on a L1-visa.

Thanks in advance for your help

Looking anxiously for your replies.
