Give GRE and TOEFL and then apply to different university who offer PhD in pharmacy.

You can forget doing an MS in the US for Pharmacy. They very strictly monitor the Pharmacy discipline. You will not even get an admission to the universities because they are always in the US medical schools. Its IMPOSSIBLE to get into US medical schools. So you shoul dbe thinking about something else. -sam
I am a spring 2007 aspirant..I am yet to receive my i20..But I have already found that there r no visa slots till Feb-2007.. at the chennai consulate..its the same case with emergency slots too..wht shall i do..

Keep checking the availability of slots and sometimes, the cancelled appointments will open up. Otherwise, try contacting the consulate and find out what other options you do have. They might arrange extra slots in other consulates like Delhi.

Yes, you have to go to VFS website and take an emergency appointment. If you use this service, make sure you have a valid reason.

Well you can still proceed with your Visa appointment after Feb. If you dont get your I20 on time you can always "Defer" your admission to Fall-2007. That way you have a better chance. -sam

Contact the consulate and check whether you can apply in the Kolkata, Mumbai or Delhi consulates. Tell them about your situation.

Hi
First of all research the univs, then you need to prepare for GRE or GMAT depending upon whether you are applying for MS or MBA. After selecting the univs and giving the required exam you need to apply for the admission, normally within a month or two they will let you know the decision and when you accept the offer, they will send you the I-20 after which you can make an appointment with the embassy for the visa and finally you come to US. So i guess that answers your question, if you have any other doubts let me know, maybe i can help you out.

There is no MS in biotechnology in the US. You can do an MS in the biological sciences department. They might have a few courses that are "Bio-technology" related. But you can't do an MS in biotechnology.
Is it possible to get an interview date at the US consulate(Mumbai) before the visa application is processed by the INS? My EAC receipt date is june 20th 06 and it has not been processed till now which might take another month or so. Will I have to wait till my application is processed to get an interview date?
Hi, I need some clarification. Can the spouse of person who is doing PhD eligible to work in US. Suppose the spouse is a Masters or Bachelors in Computer Science Engg. Is she eligible to be on H-1 B visa being the wife of a person who is on F-1 Student Visa doing Ph.D. Let me know your opinion guys. Sincerely, Kiran

Depends on your visa. If you are on J1- your spouse will be on J2 and she is eligible to work with work authorization from USCIS. If you are on F1 - your spouse will be on F2 and she is ineligible to work in the US.
If an employer can sponsor her H1 then she can work.

Your wife can be on any visa if she can obtain that visa. If she wants to be on a H1 then she needs to find someone (company) who can spponsor that visa. It is independant of your F1 visa. But yes she can be on an H1 and you on an F1.

She is not eligible to work on dependent visa. You have to find some company who can sponser H-1B for her.

Spouse is eligible to work in US. Being on F2 visa, he/she will have to apply for a work authorization permit from the dept of Homeland Security (check out www.uscis.gov).

IELTS scores are accepted in US universities but not all...Try searching for the list of US universities that accepts IELTS score...
And you have decent score so you can definately apply on that and you don't need GRE or TOEFL...

I suggest you to come on h1 rather than on MS,as already you have BTech and 2 yrs of experience that should do.
Doing your MS will not make any difference to job,and additionally you have to pay lots of fees and 2 yrs of your valuble time.

The job opportunities in US are much better if you get a degree from the US. In Masters, you would be working on a specialized topic. So your opportunities for specialized research and development based work increases. Experience helps, but it is my understanding that people with higher education degrees gets the challenging projects (super achievers are exceptional, with or without a degree).
