Experience with online stock brokers
by Mihir Dighe on Oct 18, 2005 07:21 PM  Permalink

Hi,
I must confess your article was really close to what a novice wishing to start online trading actually goes through and I had very similar experiences when I approached few of these companies for trading. Though my father wanted to open account with one of these I was also involved in decision making. After going through all of these and then finally getting registered with one of them I found out the experience being quite good online but offline dealing with these companies is worst thing that one can experience. Secondly all these companies have lot of hidden charges which one can only know once he starts trading with them. I hope you will emphasis on this topic in your next column. Otherwise the whole or entire effort of yours would be waste if the readers are not able to get to a decision based on your research.
thanks,

Great Job done....
by Kartik on Oct 18, 2005 05:29 PM  Permalink

I'm really glad that Rediff undertook this activity to find out which was the best Online Trading Broker..

However I would like to see a detailed feature by feature analysis including brokerage and hidden charges, because thats the real challenge...

Regards
Kartik

ICICI-not professional
by Rohan on Oct 18, 2005 05:13 PM  Permalink

Nice article. Always ask for demo and options before opening online trading account.

I sent SMS to 7587/similar number after seeing ICICI directs' ad on crowded bus stop in borivali. Since last seven days i have got calls almost everyday and have fixed appointment atleast 5 times. But no one from ICICI has cared to turn up.

Great piece of info! Especially for people who are looking to open an online trading account!

Listing the requirements for each brokerage would help as well!
