Great Knock
by vadivalagan prabu on Aug 02, 2008 08:43 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Veeru is a great player when he is in full form. I am proud of him but my all time favourate Sachin should have scored atleast a 50.

He may be thinking about his entry into the bollywood and how to make money there because it is a human being thing that they would never stop wanting. He got the knack of getting money, he will never stop thinking about money. Let us forget about him. He is not into cricket now.

When Viru starts hitting no body can match him. But Sachin is still Sachin. Sher thoda buddha hogaya hai : Phir bhi SHER TO SHER HI Hai. 2/3 innings se SACHIN ka wajan mat karo.

Kumble is the worst captain.
by anandaram tsj on Aug 02, 2008 07:53 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

He is unidimensional. When things dont go according to plan he is too negative as indicated by his body language.Further there is no innovation at all.Even yesterday he could have tried Sehwag and Tendulkar. He could have also got an extra batsman by using Dravid as a keeper. He is not innovative or creative. In all four series(Pakistan,Australia,SouthAfrica and currently Srilanka) he has showed negative captaincy.

All the seniors will play well under MS Dhoni. He is a great captain, but he should improve his test batting skills to have a long and successful run for team and himself.

Please leave now Kumble

Your fan

Forget Dhoni, Sehwag should be the test captain. Dhoni should consider himself lucky to be in test team as Dinesh Karthik is failing miserably, dont try to make him a test captain.

The big 4 are having a nice vacation at the island nation before retirement .They have made the moolah and are now blocking youngsters........

Tendu bhi inconsistent ho gaya hai..........dada ki hawa nikal gayee hai .....and dravid and laxman to apni apni families main dyan laga rahe hain........

I think viru played a excellent knock 201 not out, but no support given others, we do not have all rounders like Australia, New zeland andothers , any way keep it up.

Hail Veeru
by Blue Aryan on Aug 02, 2008 05:36 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

I suppose time has come recognise Sehwag as the most valuable batsman in Indian team. He may not be the best batsman in the team but certainly with the decline of Rahul Dravid he has become a very dependable player.

It is also reflective of the fact the big 4's playing power are vaning quite rapidly. It hurts to see the big 4 who used to demolish spinners have come to a point where they can't score a run to save their lives against the two great spinners. I know the fans over here will again my remind me about how Sachin destroyed Shane Warne. But that was in 1998!! It surprises how Monty Panesar, Paul Harris, Nicky Boje, Muralitharan, Mendis have all troubled India.

Sachin is doing the same as Kapil Dev did in the last 5 years of his career, a liability on the team!! Dravid seems to be the bottleneck of the team. More often than not he is not able to stay on the wicket and if he does then he ruins all chances of scoring by blocking one end and taking the strike on the last ball of the over.

Saurav Ganguly, well what to say, the great comeback dream is turning into a nightmare. I hope better sense prevails to him and he retires before Dalmiya chucks him out.

VVS Laxman, the last battling soldier, don't know till when!!

114 runs behind
by Harinder Singh Mehbub on Aug 02, 2008 05:07 AM  Permalink

If India can wrap up SL innings before lunch then we will have a very good chance to win this test. The turning pitch will favor Bhajji and Kumble. India needs to get SL out in the first session so that we have a 60 run lead. If we can score 250 then we will win the test.

Wrong..reporting
Sachin, Dada and Dravid take all the honourS........and other perfomers are just there to worship the "TRIDEV" and wash their dishes

After india lose this match and the lanka series.....Sachin will score a meaningless century in the next match....Dravid will say he was wrogly given out and Dada will claim that there is still cricket left in him.

We made this "TRIDEV" billionaires and worshipped them..........what have we got in return....BABA JI KA GHANTA?

viru's 200 better than triple hundred
by vinay on Aug 02, 2008 12:49 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

this inning seems to b better than his triple centuries as no other batsman dominated on this pitch except gambhir to some extent n viru scored almost 60% of the team total.
that way, this is more important inning in viru's career than his triple hundred on dead pitches like in pak.

His triple century was equally good and perhaps more destructive as he was smashing the bowlers all round throughout the innings. Perhaps in that innings he had Tendulkar playing at the other end so there was a good partnership, hence he could play freely. In this one, he had to slow down towards the end as wickets kept falling. After his comeback into the team, Sehwag is playing pretty close to his body and improved his onside strokes as well. Whereas earlier he was predominantly an off side player, now he is playing strokes all round the wicket. There is no doubt that he has stepped into greatness.

Come on guys give some respect to these talented guys. Not that I am a fan of any of them but they surely have given us moments to relish.BCCI should change our selection policy and make it tougher for these elderly cricketers to qualify :)

Agree with Vinay... Karthik shuld be sacked next match. I hate to say but in form Parthiv Patel will be a better choice as Dhoni was smart enough not to play with buddas.

Rocks:

Agree with you. Sack the Indian team for having lost the first test. We should start playing Volley ball instead.
