is cricket really important ?
by Prasad Raj on Apr 30, 2008 01:13 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Today the whole nation is talking about cricket. The whole channels are talking about cricket for 24 Hour. The case of newspapers is also not different.

As if we dont have any other games. My personal believe is that in India bcoz of this game no other game is progressing..If it is athletics or footbal or basket ball or any other game...

In olympics we need to pray a lot to get a bronze medal..What a shame ...A country with 100 crore cant win a medal @olympics..Still we are thinking with cricket india is the hub of world sports... Apart from some countries(may be 10 or 11) rest even dont know what is cricket.......Shame on us

You should not forget Yusuf Pathan. Fastest fifty in IPL. Very handy spinner as well as field also. What about Parveen Kumar. Man of match in final against Australia. Ravinder Jadeja also included.

Education
by vsgiri on Apr 30, 2008 01:06 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

On an average cricketers from south are highly educated ( no need to mention names) but it is not the case with the North ies . Apart from this south is culturally much ahead recent genomic group studies have also proved that. In any case one need to educate oneself if he wants to be professional

I am amazed by the ease you have changed the whole context of the article from the Gentleman's way of Cricket to the north-south divide. A few more people like you are enough to divide the country.

In whic century you are living boy?Now ther is no north or south cultures in India! All are mixed up thanks to revolution of industrilists and enterprenors. And even parents can preach the child only upto primary school stage! It is all now upto individual to imbibe the good culture!

"Education is essential here and should be made part of the system."

Is Harbhajan/ Sreeshanth/Yuvraj greater players than Sachin, Dravid, Kumble, Srinath, Sunny, Vishwanth, Steve, Mark, Hooper, Murali.. Every one has left their mark in acheiving some thing.. But the new comers after playing some ten matches behave like they are the lords.. You dont find a single instance of Kumble or Sachin misbehaving in the field or off the field.. Our players have to learn a lot on how to behave.

That's why they are refferd to as "Great Players". It's not a joke to handle fame and money. Look at Dhoni who is a good example! It's all in your head and you cannot behave what your emotion says!!

if bhajji can go the the extent of slapping sree,, then there is no doubt that symo was correct to point out that he did call him monkey & to that even tendu supported him... bottom line is both cheated Indians.... Now tell me who r the culprits...

Yes. Tendulkar should be banned for supporting Bhajji during that episode. Tendulkar threw his weight (and his reputation) behind a person who deserved to be left at the mercy of the Australians!

''HUNTER''medicine for Bhajjii
by Cham Esan on Apr 30, 2008 12:58 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

I completely agree with Kumble that the neo stars of cricket need professional help so that they can manage themselves well.I am a psychoanalyst and I have developed a simple but effective medicine. It is called "HUNTER".When ever I am contracted to manage team members I will sit in the Team Pit by the side of boundry with my "HUNTER".When ever BHajji types show their bad side I will get in and just give some lashes using my "HUNTER".The dose is proportional to the severity of offence. So may be I will have to crack the "HUNTER" 10 times for Bhajji and 5 times of Sreesanth and may be 3 times for Yuvraj.I may just have to wave the "HUNTER" from boundry for people like Saurav or Ishan Sharma. If after using this medicine for 1 year BHajji shows no improvement thyen I will be forced to give "HUNTERS" to both the umpires and all members of team playing against BHajji. How's that???

I needed to explain the USPs of my medicine with examples.Hence the length.I am sure in some cases like yours the utterance of just "H" will put you on the right path!!
