Agree with you. Old versus young doesn't count. Just see how Warne, Macgrawth and Gilchrist has shown the way. Buth they all are AUSTRALIANS and none of the great INDIAN players have shown the willpower and attitude to make a mark in IPL.

So the debate is not of young and old. The debate is that our fabulous four (or five, whatever you call them), are not good enough to play for T20. I think next edition of IPL will benfit at least 5 newer talent from India, as Fab 4 (5) have shon their inability to adapt and are total failure in IPL.

cheers

Appreciate Sachin Tendulkar and Rahul Dravid, Bcoz they are the Best.
by SachinTheGreat on May 01, 2008 10:13 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

I am seeing many comments here abusing the Greats of Cricket like Sachin Tendulkar, Rahul Dravid and to some extent Saurav Ganguly, and the basis of these abuses is their performance in this IPL T20.FYI in Cricket there are 3 formats now, Test Cricket(Real Cricket), ODI's and T20, and a Good Player will be good in any format.

Rahul Dravid is possibly one of the best batsman in Test Matches and great batsman in ODI's but he has not performed well in T20 Matches in short he is flop in T20 Matches, but that does not mean u degrade him and abuse him, learn to appreciate talent, Batsman like Yuvraj Singh, MS Dhoni and Robin Uthappa are nothing in front of him, what are the records of Yuvraj Singh, MS Dhoni and Robin Uthappa in ODI's forget about Test Matches, Yuvraj Singh is playing Test matches since 6-7 years yet he has not eastablished himself, just bcoz he flirts with Bollywood Actresses and is a superstar, ur comparing a batsman like Yuvraj Singh with a Great like Sachin Tendulkar, Wat a Joke.Who is this Robin Uthappa Waste of a Batsman, he has not even Scored a Hundred in International Cricket, and some jerks are suggesting him to make Captain of Banglore Team, Wat a Joke.

The Problem is U dont know to Appreciate new talent also, bcoz if u appreciate new talent u should be appreciating batsman like Gautham gambhir, Shikhar Dhawan and Abhishek Nayar, these are the real talented youngster's in India and not some nautankibaaz like Yuvraj Singh or Robin Uthappa.

Test Players useless in 20-20
by M.M.K. on May 01, 2008 10:07 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

IPL should have restricted senior and test player batsmen to play in tournament like 20-20 where only young blood and powerhitting required. Banglore will never reach to semi if they keep playing with Dravid,Kalis & Jafer....

Lousy teams, don't expect any miracles!
by mar gaya on May 01, 2008 10:06 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Bangalore Royal Kallus obviously is a third-rate team. It has no future. Same is the story with Mumbai Indians. One win by MIs doesn't mean anything. The team still remains a Ghaatii team, with a few foreign players.
The suggested team names are:

Mumbai Ghaatiis, Mumbai Paav Bhaajis, Mumbai Vadaa Paavs, Mumbai Usal Paavs, Mumbai Misal Paavs, Mumbai Shreekhands, Mumbai Cutting

For the info of outsiders: Usal Paav, Misal Paav etc
are fast food items sold on Mumbai streets.

Its good that Sachin is not playing for his Ghaatii vadaa Paav team. He would have been just about as successful as Dravid and Ganguly in 20/20. Vengy was right when he dropped the three oldies from the T20 format. But these three oldies have become the icon players for their teams, and are as useful as white elephants.

There is not much to think adjust or rectify.

Yes. In fact there is a great suggestion circulating in BCCI to start 5-5 (balls) match.

This will bring out the greatest of the great of each player. Then they will move on to 1-1 ball matches.

Finally we will just have the toss, and the match will be won or lost on the toss itself - that is a 0-0 match. This will be coming soon.

Test cricket? Oh forget it. It brings the worst out of every player.

ALTERNATE SPORTS FOR OLDIES

The T20 cricket is LOW LEVEL AND SLOW game in comparison to stature and cpabilities of oldies like, Dravid, Laxman,, Ganguly, Tendulkar.

They should switchover to faster high level games like GOLF(like Kapil Dev), BILLIARDS or CHESS.

Will begood for them as well as cricket

Gautham gambhir played a fantastic knock of 88 runs yesterday, he is just 25 runs short of being the highest run scorer in this Competition, and the amount of talent that he has got and the ominous touch that he is in, it wont be a Surprise if he bcomes the Man of the Series since the Aussies like Mathew Hayden, Mike Hussey and the Kiwi Brendon Macullum will not be Playing in this Series.
