Media to be Blamed.
by Sandeep Kumar on Apr 10, 2008 10:09 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

The media has to be blamed for this.
It is these people who have given such hype to IPL.(Might be to get some money from BCCI).
Why cant you people cover other tournaments like ICL, or any other sport?
I can see cricinfo.com giving live scorecards of ICL, why cant Rediff do that??
I think BCCI treated the media in right way.

rediff should totally highlight ICL
by raj on Apr 10, 2008 10:01 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

the spotlight and frontpage news should be dominated by ICL.

lets see if the websites have the guts to do that - focus only on ICL and give them one headlines everyday.

IPL will buckle down.

by ravi m on Apr 10, 2008 09:56 AM  Permalink

It seems BCCI is behind money after all..
press really deserve this kind of treatment from BCCI because not giving more scope to events such as ICL, which now seems as an good initiative for future of indian cricket

Money..Money..Money. Everything is now money matters. So they decided not to give permission to cover IPL through websites. It is not correct. To teach them a lesson, you people should boycott all the information about the IPL. Instead, we, popularize ICL. We have no other way to go except to take this decision. Hence, hereafter, we also don't like any news about IPL. You can boldly avoid them. We are with you. As usual, our visitors will visit Rediff more enthusiatically as never before. We are with you.

If you are talking about cricket you do not talk about ICL...as it is a joke in the name of cricket.

Well Done IPL

U ppl(media) deserve this kind of treatment. When ICL was launched n not so big star players were recruited u ppl did not even think of covering the matches. If Zee did not have their own news & sports channel they could have been in troble. Many young cricketers in ICL were totally ignored by media. But when IPL was launched u ppl gave it an extensive hype. And now Modi has just done the right thing what u ppl deserved. Don't blame it in BCCI or modi. U ppl ur selves are to blame for it

It's going to lead to INFLATION and kill CRICKET
by Samir Doshi on Apr 10, 2008 06:38 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

All the money that's spent by corporates on IPL is going to further increase inflation. And in the end us consumers will have to pay for increased costs in basic commodities like Rice, Wheat flour, Vegetables.

Concept of T20 come from USA, who thought that it was difficult to concentrate for a full day on cricket. And as we all know Americans have done things only for their only benefit. They will gradually kill cricket. Rather than promoting cricket in West Indies they brought about T20. they took away good talented cricketers from West Indies to play Baseball, Basketball rather than develop the real cricket - TEST cricket.

IPL and even ICL has basically killed common persons interest in cricket. And with the money thats getting poured into IPL - unless we common people boycott IPL, it will turn out to be a big success. So boycott IPL and ICL and promote actual cricket.

Real test of character is playing TEST cricket and to an extent One -d ay cricket. Real strategy is involved in those form of cricket.
T20 is like fast food.

What hppens if you eat fast food for everyday of your life. You will get sick.
You have to have proper food to live a healthy life.

JAI HIND
