Luckey men
by RAKESH DOGRA on Sep 27, 2007 03:31 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Piyush Chawala,Joginder Sharma,Yusuf Pathan and Agarkar must be feeling very lucky to have gone to South Africa. They earned over crore of Rupees for doing very littel of any significace in winning the cup.
People may argue that Jiginder Sharma bowled best last over against Australia and again agaist Pakistan in the final but its not true. Both Austarlian batsmen were finding difficult to connect with ball even in previous overs so they just could not score.22 runs in last over was really very difficult.
Against Pakistan spinner doing last overin those conditions was very bad thought.Harbjhan rightly refused. So Joginder was the only choice left as he was the only medium pacer leftin the team.
I think he has got very rich reward for that over not for much of skill but more of a luck.
But will he make to the team again it has to be seen.
One crore for 6 sixes @ Rs 16.25 lac/six is too much an amount.I wish he remains on ground.

Luck? If that was luck, we need more Joginder Sharmas in the team!!! Come on, wake up, Mr. Dogra. We have lost so many matches since we never had a good last over bowler. Now that we have found one, u r deriding him and bringing down his contribution. Have u forgotten how Zaheer Khan, Agarkar got clobbered by everyone in the last overs??? The entire team contributed for this victory, and we salute them for that.

I don't think the big 3 have a choice!!
Sachin, Ganguly and Dravid have to accept Dhoni as the captain and perform well otherwise their own places will come under threat!!
What you are saying would have been true had there been dearth of young talent!!
But with the arrival of Uthappa, Gambhir, Karthick, Rohit Sharma and Suresh Raina, the seniors are on their toes!!
And that is best for Indian cricket!!

Also, Dhoni has shown himself to e a decent captain so more pressure on the older brigade to perform under him!!

The Great Icon of 83 kapil Dev was humiliated soon after the world cup victory as the western union of India Cricket. In fact he was stripped off the captaincy on the behest of Gavaskar. Now another Icon from Northern India ( Dhoni of Uttarakhand) becomes waiting for the same fate sooner or later.
BCCI have purposely made their homecoming larger than life......Even Sachin and Dravid deliberately kept off of a national celebration for the reasons best known to them.
The Aussies have arrived with a point to prove.
Sachin, Saurav and Dravid cannot swallow the accolades showered on Dhoni a cricketer with just 3 years in team India. What Sachin could not achieve in 16 years inspite of being so blessed with technical flawlessness, Dhoni has achieved in 3 years.
People say that one man can not turn fortune of a team and its a team effort, just to give Sachina benefit of doubt.
Friends People like Jaisurya, hayden, Gilchrist and Steven Waugh did every thing single handed.

The opposite party is eagerly waiting for the outcome of the Ind-Aus ODI series, and no doubt whom they are wishing better luck.

Dhoni you are special, we want to see you as a captain for a longer time and I advice you to strike a balance between highs and lows.
Success has many fathers; failure is B*s*a*d

First of all dhoni is ODI, captain for the forth coming Aussies tour to India and this was decided well before inida reached semis of T20.
Secondly non of the names that you have mentioned have won a single match single handedly, infact no one can do it. Cricket is not just batting, it requires good balling, batting and fielding to make a team win and that to consitently. And all this cannot be achieved individually, it definitely requires team work.
And lastly what our team has won is a 20 over match, no doubt they played good cricket, but this game is entirely different from the formal ODI and I am sorry to say the current T20 team doesnot have the capability to play 50 overs. Only Pathan, bhajji, and RP can bowl well in ODI, shreesanth and Joginder will be massacred in their spell of 10 overs each.
SImilarly, only Yuvraj,Dhoni(looking at his steady batting form) and Rohit sharma are capable to play long innings, maybe Ghambhir too.
And even Dhoni might be aware of this.

Dhoni is not from uttarakhand but Jharkhand dude, 100% born and brought up, right from his brith in 1981. ABCD of cricket he learnt in Jharkhand itself and started his career playing for u-19 team of Bihar Cricket Association.
Yeah his parents were from Uttarakhand which they had to leave due to extreme proverty. So polish your GK first and don;t sing regional tune..already India is so much divided. Yes he carried a blood of uttranchali, but he is like Krishna, Son of Deviki as well as Yashoda. For your better knowledge read the following wiki on Dhoni.

TT Cup is won by Team india or BCCI rather NCP

I wonder whether TT Cup is won by Team india or BCCI rather NCP. There were so many posters thanking Mr Pawar. What the great he has done and what is the use of saying Jay Maharastra at the end of the speech. These cheap Politicians will even not allow to celebrate the victory with spirit of joy. Shame....

Mr Pawar has done very good for BCCI.He is given complet free hand to concern persons/Commetee and assigend them job. With his experience BCCI is DEFFIENTLY GROWING.Even currrent and past plyaers and associte organisation/Sates are happy. but pawar has to take care of media and his opposition he should avoid this kind of situation. And again 20-20 cup is just begning.wait and wach pawar will take cricket at rurel areas so more players and cricketing clubs can enjoy.

Indian Victory in 20-20

In my opinion the victory was more a luck than any real hard work as the margin would suggest. This could have gone either way. The real worth would be known after recent ODIs with Australia and Pakistan.

dear friend..... a victory is victory weather margin is less or huge.pls learn to accept that. after so many rounds of 'filtration' only the best 2 teams reach for the final slot. the guys beat Australia , South Africa teams who played their best men. Luck favours only the prepared ones. Wish them best luck.

I totally agree the victory was more a luck than any real hard work. You require only luck to take 10 wickets. Where is the hard work in taking 10 wickets? Real worth is known in present action not in intention to do something in future or something done in past. Lets celebrate! LIFE IS WORTH CELEBRATING!!
