if australia were to be rewarded like us for everything they've won till now... they would be richest guys ever.... it's a well known fact.. why the stingy BCCI has loosened its purse strings suddenly.. as they say.. when 2 guys fight.. the 3rd party benefits...
Please dont grudge our heroes in this hour of glory. cricket is the ONLY sport we are good at/won laurels.we are universally crap in other sports. Now that we won the world cup, the boys deserve every bit of awards and adulation coming their way. India-WORLD CHAMPIONS?!! Who would have imagined?? Alsoits not govt money, but bcci money.
what will happen if india wins the regular world cup?? will they give each player 5-10 crores? bcci is the biggest opaque,non-transparent, unaccountable, corrupt, political ,monopolistic, autocratic, insensitive board of a sport in the entire world...

jiyo bete... how do they get so much money while we cannot repair roads, people do not get water and kids die of hunger.
You will not find Government like Maharashtra in any part of this universe.
Why Maharashtra government has announced the award to their state players? Every now and then farmers are committing suicide in Vidarbha region since last 3 years. Money is not reaching to them and they are losing their lives. It clears that state Government has no vision on how to utilize the public money.
Ajit Agarkar earned handsomely in last 8 years. Rohit will earn more from advertisements , then why money is given to them?

i fully agree to this. pls save the farmers in vidarbha
even brazil n south america dosen't do such a vulgar display of monetary rewards.. even if they win the world cup.... n it's their biggest sport n passion like cricket is to us... n we should try and be reasonable.. celebration need not involve so much money n make other sports n sportsmen in the country look like poor and unfortunate orphans n curse their luck for having to play for india...n not get any rewards inspite of winning .. BCCI just wants to satisfy its big ego n show ICL it's might thru mindless rewards

I dont agree at all....Brazil usually wins a lot of medals in other sports too during Olympisc. While for us, cricket is the ONLY sport we are good at/won laurels.we are universally crap in other sports. Now that we won the world cup, the boys deserve every bit of awards and adulation coming their way. India-WORLD CHAMPIONS?!! Who would have imagined??

co'mmon Mr.Sandeep and such thinking minds, growup and see the facts. If the same amount of money or atleast half of that amount which is spent on Cricket is allocated to other sports, definitly, India will be in top five list of Olympic medals list. We Indians HAVE Potential, just that we ourselves are ignoring and insulting our spirits.

I agree with you. It's a sheer vulgar display of the BCCI's monetary power. It's a greater disgrace that the politicians of Mumbai are utilising it to enhance their polotical image. I'm sure it is all because there is so much wealth with the BCCI for grabs. Its good to recognise the achievements of the players, but within limits. I wonder what will happen, if the lose the next 2 series against Australia and Pakistan. They will be treated like dirt, without understanding that cricket is afterall a game and you cannot always win. I woula also like to know where all these politicians were, when Irfan Pathan filed and the whole cricketing fraternity and public were criticising him.

THERE SHOULD BE A CELEBRATION MAN. THEY HAVE INDIANS ALL OVER THE WORLD PROUD. WE CAN PROUDLY SAY NOW WE ARE WORLD BEATERS. THE AMOUNT ANNCOUNCED BY BCCI IS VERY LESS FOR WHAT THE INDIAN CRICET TEAM GAVE TO INDIA. FEW THINGS CANT BE VALUED BY MONEY. KUDOS TO INDIAN CRICKET TEAM BUT THE REAL THING...50-50 WORLD CUP IS WHAT INDIANS WANT REALLY FROM THE BOTTOM OF THEIR HEART....HEARING SACHIN..
