I love cricket and passion for cricket. what BCCI is giving to cricketers is not the matter of concern as they r esrning from them and giving to them. why government is giving yeah paisa unke baap ka hai kya. we are getting deducted heavily in the means of tax and it is paid to them. the victims who should have got 2.5 lacks of train blast in 11/7 in mumbai is yet to be recived. Humanity is not atall there with Politicians. they just want to do their own lal.

Wonderful point friend. i appreciate the truth in ur message.
Hi Harsha zhaveri. You may argue that money is wasted because it would have fed some poor people. I agree. But a nation has got to have character and its popular expression is art and sports. One form of appreciation is fan adulation and it happens everywhere. You dont improve the health of our nation by cutting down here. If such celebrations occur ever month then you may be right. But this is not going to make a dent in our economy. Rather, the proud Indians were a happy lot and have done themselves a good deal by relaxing a bit. I am sure whatever money that was "wasted" will be more than recovered as it is known that good sentiment improves productivity and results in a positive culture. Prosperity follows when people feel good. Let them bask in glory. It does make India richer and better.
all art is waste. Money can be utilised in projects and agriculture. Let us not forget that millions around the world know about India's victory and celebrating victory is but natural. Excesses are there and critics like you will point out and keep balance. What you mention applies to all of us in our daily life too? Why do you need a mercedez benz if you can do with a small car? Why LCD TV if you can have 21" TV? Why do u go on a honeymoon. Why not rent a house nearby in mumbai?

Not only that, we have Vishy Anand, Paes, Bhupathi who don't get even a 10th of the adulation that these cricketers get, despite genuinely beating the best in their business consistently, at much tougher competetion.
I am not saying Anand, Paes, and Bhupathi (and recently Sania) aren't getting recognized. But they aren't a 10th as recognized as these cricketers. Small achievements of cricketers are hyped up, and big achievements of non-cricketers are ignored.
Public support cannot be forced. However, there is no point kidding ourselves that we are celebrating achievement, impartially, here. Paes/Bhupathi won quite a few grandslams, but they won't get a 1000th of the hits or news coverage these guys get, for winning a tournament that gained in importance only after India won it.
what has this man done for the poor people around him? yes the amount of money given to yuvi was a bit too much but think as to how many people have achieved this. they work hard to win and bring cheers to their supporters as much as they can..learn to be happy at other people achievments only then will others value your achievement and be happy at yours. they may not be the soldiers but they still represent their country and bring laurels to their contry and countrymen. their are politicians to look after the needy and the poor (who anyways dont do their job). cheer them and soak in the euphoria of this fantastic win. let it not be undermined by such mean and senseless people. WELL DONE TEAM INDIA..KEEP IT UP..ALL INDIANS ARE WITH YOU EXCEPTING FOR A FEW MEAN ONES. AYUSHANSH

Man, don't forget the smile it brought on the face of millions of people in India... It made them forgot their everyday sorrows for some moments%u2026 Don't try to measure it in money mate!!!
Khush rahana sikh yaar... paise se nahi kharidi jati, dil se nikalti hai khushi...
& that celebration mood came directly from heart of millions of people and it was not the crowd gathered by a political party... though it ended like a political meeting...

when hundreds of farmers are commiting sucides .the only time pawar is seen on tele is as bcci chief . i think he forgot that he is agriculture minister also. shame on him. just push politicians out of cricket and sports and leave management to exprienced administrators
parisa and other friends come here. It is ours money only. actually a product value in rupees is very less in hot condtion, when it is advertised the add charge also included, then miscellaneous charges likewise the price of product swelled. finally when it become favourite because of the favourite stars the product becomes a must buying goods. now the manufacturer will pressurise the price of product. so the producer who become sponsor for games dont give his pocket money. if the price of product is less as it is hot condition we need not pay for the product such costly. so to buy the goods which is popularised and posseses more price we have to work hard to earn money, finally we suffers. let our cricketers get money, because they worked hard. ignore our dirty politicians, finally they will count bars. the thing is the cricketers who got more money within overnight can give 1 or 2% of the prize(in hand) to the poor people.
assuming u r married how much money you spent on ur marriage? and how many people you invited for your celebration wasting the people time and effort for your function and why the hell did you spend money on marriage when going to register office will do cheaper .where were you when political parties are organising hartals and meetings in middle of road distrubing peace every 10 days ,arent you a concerned citizen then ?

i have to say the writer of this article is a little extreme in his views. However there are points that he has brought out which are still to be looked into by our government. Celebration is important as that gives us the satisfaction of achieving something. But we should not hide behind those celebrations & forget the issues that need to be addressed. The best approach is to look ahead after each celebration & try to overcome all concerns of this country. This is the duty of every Indian : politician, sportsman or common man alike.
