Hey Siddarth. There are indeed 11 players in the list. May be u missed the count. Guess one got retired hurt.
I read a lot of msgs as to how sachin does`nt play in match winning cause and how rahul does that everytime here is a comarision taken from cricinfo site for matches won by india: S 199 9437 186* 56.84 29 50 97 5/32 32.64 2 60 0 R 157 5672 153 51.56 8 47 2 2/43 31.00 0 102 10 M Runs Ht Avg H F WK BB B.Avg 5W Ct St

Yes accepted this ODI but in Tests rahul has done better in matches bottom line sachin is the better one but that doesnt mean u belittle dravid. He is the only to have scored centureis against all countries in their grounds got it. Both are great we are iNdians appreciate both

Rahul Dravid has played mostly in the middle order so please compare him with kaif or Yuvaraj. Pls do some sensible comparison in ODI. Only test matches can be compared and in that both are equal though Sachin slightly ahead.

Please also include the facts that Sachin contributed with Ball as well while Dravid kept wickets
TRY VVS LAXMAN AS A TEST CAPTAIN CAUSE HES CERTIANITY IN TEST SIDE. I THINK HEEL BE A VERY GOOD CAPTAIN BUT OUR MARATHI SELECTORS WONT GIVE HIM ANY CHANCE 4 SURE.

Let us not go in to Marathi selection etc, but I support Laxman as the captain. He had good record as a captain in domestic matches
Sachin has studied very well the BCCI politics, back biting and the vagaries of the fans over the years. He is a very matured cricketer to fall prey to the whims and fancies of the selectors- be it a Mumbai selector or anyone. May be he wants to concentrate on his batting rather than get bogged down by the controversies. A good decision.

You are right. It is a mature decision. Sachin has seen how a senior and gentleman cricketer like Dravid is being treated shabbily by the selectors. He is far too experienced to fall prey to the politics played by the selectors. It is better if he concentrates on his game more than caught in the board politics. By refusing captaincy, he also has avoided unnecessary speculations on Dravid's resignation.
Very wrong signals being sent to fellow cricketers!! MS Dhoni has a long way to go in the test arena.. He is not the best wicketkeeper in the land...that honor goes to Ajay Ratra and Dinesh Karthick... I'am not sure whether as a batsman he is really better than Dinesh Karthick!!
If you rate wicketkeeping on a scale of 1 to 10, MS Dhoni will get 6 and Karthick will get about 8....
If MSD is really made the captain, this might be the most unfortunate news for Karthick!!
Cos if he captain, he is a certainty as a wicketkeeper batsman... Then if Sehwag makes a strong comeback or the hugely talented Manoj tiwari reinvents himself as an opener, Karthick has no place in the team!!

Actually Karthik deserves a place in the test side at the cost of Dhoni. So i really hope that Dhoni is not made the test captain.

And they Should Take a Mayala Fakir Like U, Atleast Sachin is Not Selfish for Captaincy, Accept It, He is Still the Best Batsman in Indian Team.
Matured decision by Sachin. His tking over Captaincy relinquished by Dravid under veil of secrecy would have only added to the unwarrented speculation that Sachin had connived with Vengsarkar to ease out Dravid. prakash kamat, Madkai
I think Sachin took the right decision. He has been the captain for the team earlier and I feel that he should concentrate on his cricket to get more centuries and runs, rather than bogged down with pressure of captaincy. Good decision Sachin, keep it up. We all support your decision.

Bengali babu, leave this job to selectors. Whether you suggest or not, they have their own candidate and if they feel Saurav is the choice so be it. Boss, selectors take the decision whether you and me or many Indian opt for a particular candidate or not.

hey .. even i like saurav very much... but msg like this is only irritating..
Best option is Dhoni without Keeping.Kaarthik anyways is sure in the Opener's slot along with Jaffer.Kaarthik can Keep as well.Though it might put pressure on Karthik as Opening an innings is the Toughest job, specially on Aus and New Zealand / South African pitches, seems the sensible option. Second option is Laxman as his is also a sure selection as a Test Batsman, he is respected by Team mates and is only 32 years and has lead Hyderabad as well. The options are limited.Dravid / Tendulkar dont want Captaincy because Dravid knows there is too much Mumbai politics involved, Tendulkar anyway was a BIG failure the first time he was Captain and if Ganguly is Captain there will be a lot of Politics between players, with only Ganguly's favourites being given importance. Kumble is too old and too soft. Yuvraj is not even sure of a place in the Test XI. So, only options are Dhoni without Gloves OR Laxman (though even he is a sweet, simple guy so may not last long with our egoistic seniors like Ganguly / Tendulkar/Zaheer. GOD HELP INDIAN CRICKET! NO COACH and no NO CAPTAIN. So, onl
