I think captaincy is also equally important, we should find a way to add or reduce the points for good or bad captaincy. We may have a chart for all captains and compare them, to see our selected captain performance with other countries.
One Good match on a flat track against a average bowling , he becomes a MVP . What is rediff trying to do ? part time agent of the Indian cricket team . They are still not a top team , I still cannot understand how Mongia can be classified as a youngest ? Somebody plz explain

I think this is good job. Atleast this will help stopping people who only blame, sachin, saurav, ajit for all the failures and take hard look at what uthapa, srishant, sehvag,Yuvi and Dravid are doing

Check out the alternate ranking system on the above blog. Mongia tops based on his runs and wickets.
Present Indian cricket team is not aggressive. They always not play with positive attitude. Present team is capable to beat country like Bermuda, Bangladesh, ireland, jimbabwe in abroad not like australia, south africa,WI in abroad, so we should play with Bermuda, Bangladesh, ireland, jimbabwe etc.

so wht's your point. this way BD should play with kenya, bermuda etc.. and not aginst India, SA , let Aus.
look at other sports F1 -- only 2 teams are dominating so rest should not compete??? similarly in Soccer, Hockey.
"The points scheme used expects players to score a lot of runs - and quickly; take a lot of wickets - and economically; and field well by taking catches and effecting run outs."
You two guns stop writing articles in Rediff, rather get good sponsors and go to Japan (Make a Robo as per your Spec) and Tie-up with TCS or Infosys or Satyam to make Hardware for the Robots and It would be difficult for anyone to take their wickets or face their bowling.
Or you Great Srinivas and Anil, pray your God and place an order to him for 14 such players....
RE:Excellent!!! Maybe only for Srinivas Bhogle, K Anil Kumar

sorry it should read "Software" and not "Hardware" from TCS or Infy or Satyam
It is the media in India who destroy the Players , If one player got a chentury in one Match he is the hero But if he dont make runs for the 2 matches he is over load in team . First Media must stop this type of evaluation inbetween a Match Series going on . And dont put up or down a player by looking 2-3 matches . mr Doni is not a Big player to call as MVP , what eve he scored in Indian Picthes . 90 runs in this Bangladesh tour is his highes score in out side India , So let us wait for some more time then we can decide who is the best and who is worst .
A great country who produced number of great cricketers and having players who follow footsteps of all those great players even in the present time and you say that this milk drinking MONKEY is Indias MVP? What a joke???????? OK he is out of form now but Sachin's SH--I-G is also technically correct than this monkey's batting. who ever doe's this ranking has to be hung. These are the real enemies of Indian cricket.
All this exercise I think is rubbish. Its just to give FTP (full time pass) for the reader. Players just by a couple of innings cannot be judged this way. Give them time and then compare their performances.
But instead of just doing away with the pressure map thing, may be you can think about adding points to the players who play well in pressure situations - for example Dhoni and Karthik in first odi - strike rate was not that important at that time but it was a pressure situation - one more wicket and there would have been a different result.
