I agree. He is probably the ONLY cricketer today who walks when he is out of a snick. He never waits for the umpire's decision. No other cricketer does that these days. That itself shows his character!
any australian does it its fair but imagine this being done by a sub continent cricketer it will be such a mess that the world fall open on each one of us. take examples when a duboius action of murali shoiab and shahid and every successful Indian bowler by australians why can't they accept that Brett Lee does throw the ball and gilly using this stupid idea. very bad let us as Indiand stop playing and watching cricket then the so called ICC will come on its knees.

Sri Lankans are being bitter losers by complaining about the squash ball trick !
If anything, Gilly's squash ball trick was used to change his batting style from playing square of the wicket to playing in the V.
People, and the complaining Sri Lankans, should realize that putting a squash ball in your glove makes it extra difficult to play your strokes. In that sense, it's a handicap and not an advantage.
People should also realize that Gilly has the ability to play square of the wicket as well as in the V. It's just that he has been getting out of late while playing strokes in the point region that he decided to use a squash ball that would force him to play strokes in the V.

Sri lankans have no shame dude...they are slowly turning into indian players, (just the mentality, they are still far better players than our players)
Today it is a ball, tomorrow who knows what it can be. A player is given a certain equipment to play with and everybody shud get the same equipment, nothing more and nothing less; the equipment shud be as uniform among everyone as possible. If the ball helped him in some way, thats an unfair advantage to have. Atleast he shud have gotten clearance before the game. I think he shud be penalised in some manner, but maybe stripping the score and the validity of the final game might be too harsh. It shud be harsh enuf to discourage such incidents in the future.
Can someone explain how placing a squash ball in the glove improves one's batting? What's the trick? How does it fit into the glove in the first place?

BTW for your information squash ball is a soft sponge like ball that can absorbe lots of shock and help providing better grip, specially against fast balls. and next time you call me stupid, you are gonna get it real bad,...so watch it dude.

Adam Gilchrist is one of the most loved Cricketers of our times and certainly an icon.
I find nothing wrong with what he did. It's not as if he were using a wider bat or an aluminium bat or something like that.
He is a Gem and the matter should be closed forever. If the Lankans have any grouse, they should get the ICC to ban the use of squash balls. But till such a rule is formed, no harm with it.

well,.. with BCCI thats a different issue,... BCCI dont even have the sack to hold the balls,..so they will always be no-balls and thus indian cricket will be the same forever.
