Toss win
by sankar Easwaran on Feb 14, 2007 12:22 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

If my memory is right, 2nd ODI Dravid won toss and elected to field. and we lost the match
Today we lost toss and again we have to chase a target.
This match is going to be a test for our batsmen

Dravid as bowler
by pramod kanakath on Feb 14, 2007 12:21 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

I have seen dravid bowling sometimes. Once or twice he was even successful. I think he must try again for variety. Once developed, he can be a good asset as a bowler too!!

Ignorance of Bowling Dept.
by Deepak Kokate on Feb 14, 2007 12:19 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

It is difficult to understand why Indian Cricket team is going for 7 batsman 4 blowers in most of the matches.

I don't recollect India winning any of the tournament after 2003 World cup with this kind of combination.

My questions is
1) Have team consistently scored 300 plus with this combination?
2) When 3 out of 7 batmans gets going on batsman freindly wicket, what is the role for remaining batman? (This was clearly visible in the last match against WI)
3)Even on a good bowling wickets, don't we need good bowlers to get the oppostion out?. In case we score low, we still should have a good bowlers and not a part-time bowlers in the forma of Tendular or Sewag. This is evident even fom today's encounter with SL team when they had lost 3 wickets for 6 runs.
4) Even on a good bating wicket, don't we need good bowlers to defend the target set by our bowlers?
5) Doesn't it shows lack of trust on our batmans and therefore we look for extra cusion for all of them?

Guys, we need a balance team to win the 2007 cup.
Otherwise winning the cup would be distant dream.

D Karthik
by dileep v on Feb 14, 2007 12:18 PM  Permalink

Anybody thinks india will take D Karthik in the playing 11 for the WC. If he is not keeping then also, he has to be included in the team as a batsman. In his place they will include Mr. Yuvraj who has an average well below 20 for the last ten matches!

let Sehwag be himself
by rajesh barla on Feb 14, 2007 12:16 PM  Permalink

the whole of india blames him for not doing well with bat. therfore he is more nervous and the blame is on him. actually the criticism on him keeps him out of form. so let him be himself. the poeple of india and the stupid media don't know how to encourage. the media only makes a big issue on any player's failures.

Once again we failed to capitalise on the early advantage taken. Got to be more careful in the slog overs.
