We must hold an e-mail or online voting of some sorts from the cricket loving public in India to select the various positions of the BCCI, including and not limited to the team coach, the president and other office bearers, the manager etc. After all we are the ones paying for these privileged class people for all their excesses. So we must have some rights. At least by having a voting system we will eliminate some of the vagaries of the corrupt bureaucracy that has crept into the system. Also I feel we need some professional managers holding the key positions for managing the administration. And the coach and selectors shall be selected on merit from among an elite panel of shortlisted former Indian cricketers.

Wrong.BCCI is a strictly private organization. If there had been a parallel cricket organization, then BCCI team would have been called "BCCI team" not "Indian team".

Cricket is still a spectator sport. If there is no spectator there is no money and there is no "excesses" for these "privileged class". at the end of the day all these advertisements, gate money, promotions, sponsorships etc. are all because we consumers do watch cricket, spending hours in front of the TV. Waiting in line since early morning to get tickets for a test match. If you mean they can afford to ignore us spectators (which they can never, even in their dreams) the idea is humorous. Well the whole idea of ICL came out of these high handedness of the BCCI. I am sure there is the business interest in all of these, but in this fast paced, ultra consumerist society, if I have the money I will go to another shop, I won't wait. If BCCI is not giving what we want, we shall go to ICL.
Since when Ex-players acting like coaches. If Kirsten can become coach, what happened to our own Gavaskar, Kapil and few other players who did good job for India. Anyway, now a days BCCI is involved in insulting our own league of extra ordinary gentlemen who have spent beautiful years of their life for nation. We should immediately desolved BCCI and should sent Sharad Pawar and his gang to exile once for all. Sharad Pawar and his gang is not doing anything for the game.

Well said..but Pawar and company want to have some fun on the side..whats the use of being rich if you can't have some cheap thrills and tease up a couple of goras.
India is heading towards Australia for their next tour. As you all know India's performace in Australia is going to be worst as already predected by the board, so for that you need a "BAKRA" and that is why Gary Kristen is appointed to be next "Indian Bakra" after Australia tour............

whoever questioned it, i think its right. he has not done that job for a local team at SA or any other country. he may show some miracle in india, time will tell. but when there are lot of indian coaches, why are u going for such an inexperiences person. when DAVE Watmore was interested, Gavaskar and other denied his request. it means the Board people have some vested interest. Now Vengsarkar is going to quit. he think wrting colums is important than national interest

All I want to know who has given GAVASKAR and SHASTRI the god-given right to decide the future of Indian cricket everytime? Everybody knows they were the most selfish and useless Indian cricketers in their time?

:) which world are u living in Padmarajan. "writing columns versus national interest"?? You think BCCI is a govt body and represent India? You are wrong there. BCCI is a private body and their sole motive is to make money. And it's all of us who contribute to their coffers. So let Vengsarkar earn his money rather than just work as a selector for free. He deserves it.
Mr. Kirsten. You are smart. Insist on non-interference from the likes of Ganguly and the Bengali politicians. They will try to dictate terms. Be fair to all the players from all the regions. All the best.

Dear whoever you are, Take a reality check and see how many Bengalis are doing well for themselves in the corporate world. Bengalis are a very intelligent race so they have a natural edge over others. Is this what you call politics? Soma

Mr. Soma: You say, Bengalis are an intelligent race. First get the facts right. There is no such thing as the Bengali Race. There is only the Bengali language. According to the genetic research of Princeton University, all the Indians come under the overall division of the Caucasian Race. Your racial understanding shows that Bengalis are indeed dumb people. By the way, the Bengalis are unable to compete with the South Indians. Explain this first.

Sorry: you can not build a rapport with guys like Ganguli, who will assemble Bengali politicians against all the non-Bengalis as well as the coach. It is better to be tough on such guys.
