How to make Indian Team a Perfect Team
by Newton on Nov 30, 2006 11:39 PM  Permalink

First you should have a Bowling Coach like Australia.

Secondly if the player is not performing well he has to be removed for the next series.

If you are doing experimentation you have to try every player in the eleven to promote up the order,it is waste of trying Irfan alone in 1st down .

Why can't you try Harbhajan,Ajith Agarkar,Zaheer these three have done it before.

Sehwag and Kaif should be removed from oneday team.

How would India become world beaters?
by S Padmanabhan on Nov 28, 2006 09:23 PM  Permalink

Remove Greg Chappell as the coach and let the Indian team practise three things to become the world no.1--it is batting, bowling and fielding. There is no use if Rahul Dravid practises one day batting or captaincy. They are of no use

why blame the coach for everything
by gebin on Nov 27, 2006 09:34 PM  Permalink

why blame the coach for everything. does the bcci provide the trainning and pitches what suit the fast bolwers in domastic matchs. then it is like teaching a student 10 day japaness language and sending them to japan. we can see the results.

For Indian team
by Raja Sugumar on Nov 27, 2006 09:26 PM  Permalink

Sachin need to play his natural game as he was played in 1996.
Bring sourav back to Indian team as a captain. (After 2003 world cup SA team did smith as a captain)
No experiment need for Indian team, chappel please stop doing experiment. With Indian team
After toss captain will handle the team he is the boss no coach
Bowlers need to bowl bouncer balls at least two in an over with good line and length as McGrath bowled.
Each and every match Dhoni should play No.2 or 3 positions as he has an average (45.6)
Self confidence is important.

1.Play all domestic cricket matches on good pace bowling pitches.2.All domestic players from a junior level should be given training to develoup mental tuffness and to handle pressure.3Batsmen should develoup shorts like the hook, pull and cut which are highly needed to counter in playing quality pace bowlers.4.Develoup fast bowlers atlest one in every state team who can bowl above 140kmph on an average.5.Develop quality spinners who can use the art of flight and variations of spin.6.good feilding

Indian players has to become more mentally tough to face and play well in high pressure situations. The batsmen exceptDravid and Tendulkar are not capable of playing high quality pace bowling, espically on bouncy pitches. We have to select players who can play the hook, pull and cut shorts, and give them exposure.Even Tendulkar is finding it difficult to play these shorts which are very necessary to counter the marauding pace bowlers. Our pace bowling attack is lacking in the much needed experience and raw pace

Youthenize not euthenize
by ramprasad on Nov 24, 2006 09:24 PM  Permalink

Since Dravid Chappell took over, the mantra has been 'youthenize the team' - but they have managed only to 'euthenize the team'.

They have given up the valuable and experienced players - Kumble, Laxman, Ganguly, Zaheer Khan etc and instead filled team with Kaif, Raina, RP Singh et al.

Today other than Tendulkar, Dravid and may be Yuvraj somewhat, Harbhajan - though still not very consistent , Agarkar are the only players with some experience to their name.

Without right mix of experience and youth, it is difficult to see Indian team as world-beaters. The acclaimed Australian team has average age of about 32. Look at this below :

Gilchrist - 35
Shane Watson - 25
Ponting - 32
Damien Martyn - 35
Hussey - 31
Symonds - 31
Michael Clarke - 25
Brett Lee - 30
Brad Hogg - 35
Bracken - 29
McGrath - 36

Average age - 31.3

SO MUCH FOR THE MANTRA OF 'YOUTH'.

sachin tendulkar
by atul on Nov 23, 2006 01:37 AM  Permalink

Please dont say any harsh words about sachin.I agree that he is not master blaster any more, but dont forget his contribution to Indian Cricket and fame he has given to india in whole world. His presence makes our team look better and believe it or not, opposite team always scared of him. He will perform better, and still he is performing better than others.
