The criticism Indian players are facing is not apt

its true that their performance in past 6-8 months has not been upto the mark.but if we analyse performance of each team carefully.we would find that.other than Australia none of the team has been consistant in wining, they have performed well in seasons.there was period when we had won 12-14 matches in a row.So its not good to just go mad at the players. The main issue has been lack of consistency by players. This has to be learnt from the Austrailins.Since last world cup they have given chance to n numbers of players and each of them has performed.they have a army of all rounders and bowlers.BCCI must do something to study Australian cricket and implement it in Indian cricketWHEREVER possible.Greg chappel, He also has gone thru undue criticism.we cant expect him to convert our tem into a australian like team in a years time.yaa he does has issues.may b likes to take lead in everything.BCCI has to clear few things to him in that regards, To improve the team.lets first keep politics out of cricket.give the best players to the captain to choose the best 11. Increase the role

captain in decision making.maintain healthy competition.

Players selection partially in BBC
by Chinnaraj on Nov 01, 2006 10:24 AM  Permalink

First of all remove the player's selection partiality from the Indian cricket board. Every one in the board is brahmin. They only select brahmin players. See players from TamilNadu. Every one is brahmin (srikanth, W.V.Raman. L.Balaji). And when kundappa viswanath is in selection, he select only karnadaka players. And in case of Gavaskar, he picks his son into team. It is shame. First the board should select the players in broad minded. ie means other community players should also selected.

In Cricket, the player should be a athlete. Then only the board look into his strength whenther he is a bowler, or batsman etc. In Indian team nobody is a athlete. See teams like South Africa , Australia etc. Every players fits into athlete.

Now a days i am not watching india matches. I am watching matches like Sri lanka, South Africa and Australia . Because their fielding and game planing. In india there is no game plan. I don't know whether the indian team know the word 'game plan'. And every players aims to make money through Advertisement etc. So they not take risk in fielding. Because if injured, not able to play games. And everyone aim is how to make my position strongly in the team

How to make India World-beaters.
by Sreelathabhushan on Nov 01, 2006 10:20 AM  Permalink

We need to bring some changes in the team and also we need to give hard training&practice to the bowlers and batsman.

1) Sehwag should be removed as his weakness has been exposed.Like how Australian team replaced dropped Heyden,we should also drop sehwag. We have to replace sehwag with Dhoni/Uthappa.

2)Suresh Raina is a talented but failed to performe well to the given chances. He should be dropped and replaced his place with Dinesh Mongia as Dinesh will be good propect for one down batsman and also can bowl leg spin.

3)Bowlers should be trained to bowl on single line for 100 balls.Mark a single line at good length area & a stump to off stick and make them to bowl on this line for 100 balls. They should be able to bowl 100 balls without fail.

4) Also train to bowl different balls like slow balls, yorkers frm the 1st spell, short pitch balls(unplayable), edge of the crease as like Makaya Nithin of south africa( He uses crease to bowl different balls)

5) Batsman should be trained to take singles,Two runs very often to move the score card and also to rotate the batsman.

6) Batsman shud be trained 2 move a foot stp forward &to bat whn bowler is bowling a good line&2 disturb his line

Re: How to make India world beaters?
by Manoj on Nov 01, 2006 10:11 AM  Permalink

The Indian team over the years has always had a weak bowling attack and no changes or improvements have been made in that area.

Changing the positions of batsmen or making Pathan bat at no. 3 is not going to improve India's bowling attack, which is purely ordinary. Teams like Australia, South Africa and Pakistan have a much better bowling attack than the Indians.

Indians to compete at the high level have to get a better bowling attack then the one they have right now. The bowlers are average except for Harbhajan and Kumble. Greg Chappell has only experimented with the already strong batting line up of the Indians and now confused them.

We do not have a proper set of bowlers for the first 15 overs and nor be we have bowlers for the slog overs.

Some body tell Mr. Chappell & Mr. Dravid to pay attention on the bowling attack of the Indian team to make it a world beater

Lack of professionalism amongst players....
by G.A.Khan on Nov 01, 2006 09:43 AM  Permalink

Indian Cricket Team can not expect to be world beaters unless they earn their place by sheer quality and not only on the basis of their past records or current potentials. The team should be +result oriented and unless this is done, there is no hope

How to make India World Beaters
by prashanth T` on Nov 01, 2006 09:29 AM  Permalink

Team India is the best on paper. All players have stupendous talent. Mainly Dravid and Sachin are so capable to turn the match arround. Team India should concentrate on Basics and their attitude. There is a victory to every game. The difference is how you approach it. In Bowling department all we lack is consistency. Good Line and Length. Mind work while bowling is so important, of-course that comes with experience.A stringent measures on good basics can make any team prosperous and world Beaters. Also importance is Confidence and Optimstic approach for any target. Main importance is Possibility Thinking which changes ones attitude and helps in gains confidence. One simple Suggestion can be, have a personal development to all the youngsters in the team like Raina, Dhoni even Sehwag. It will Help i m very sure.

To make India World Beaters
by Nikhil Sakhalkar on Nov 01, 2006 09:04 AM  Permalink

To be the best the only thing that is required is the eagerness to "WIN". We could see that eagerness with Ganguly and John Wright combination . The big guns used to fire and young players blossomed under his captaincy. The likes of Sehwag,Yuvraj,Kaif,Sreesanth.Even if Ganguly is not in the best form he still has that spark and his agreessive nature was the only reason we reached the final in the last World Cup. Dravid batting has also been affected by the extra burden. I think we should immediately get Saurav Ganguly in place to injured Yuvraj Singh .With the kind of experience he has we are not only putting a great batsmen but also adding a extra medium pace bowler which can be effective in West Indies. The team management should wake up and forget about the quota system and get the best 11 who can help India win the World Cup next year. With Zaheer and Anil back in the team it has added a lot of balance and experience to the bowling department.Right now the team needs someone like Saurav to come back share his experience and ignite the spark in all the players and let Dravid concentrate on his batting.Dravid cannot get the same motivation level as Saurav did."SAURAV SAURAV"

Improve Domestic structure
by srignram on Nov 01, 2006 08:16 AM  Permalink

Well the first and foremost thing should be improving the quality of cricket on the domestic ciruit. Provide better pitches and grrom young players. This will automatically increase the bench strength.Ganguly is a gone case and people are still talking about him as if under his captancy India had won all the matches. Team India still depend on individual not playing as a tem.
