Indian Cricket
by G.SUBRAHMANYAM on Nov 01, 2006 01:02 PM  Permalink

just treat Indian criket & cricketers as normal, niether of them are above normal citizens of the country. When we assume them to be bigger than the life, we expect big things from them.
By making cricketers bigger than what they are we made a big mistake.

Just treat it as any game like hockey, foot ball.

Just ignore them

Men In Blue to Wake Up
by Naresh Reddy on Nov 01, 2006 12:56 PM  Permalink

The Champions Trophy and DLF Cup are good lesons for Team India.I think the Indian team failed in all departments with a slight tinge of bounce in the Champions Trophy pitches this team failed .So howm can we think that this team is going to deliver the googs in a best manner in the BOUNCY SA and WI pitches. If they really want to become the world beaters they should concentrate the SA tour very much by not too much experimentation.

This is the right time to get back players like Dada,VVS and Asish Nehra to SA as the Rainas,Kaifs and Dinesh failing to perform. If they really want to win WC 2007 they are supposed to get the mental sessions and not the militarty camps.Chappel and Dravid has done a lot of experimentation which may shoe partly a good result but this is giong to be a failure in long term. They should follow the rotation policy of the Ausies. The talent is ther in India but the ZONAL BASIS is playing a crucial role.

WHAT TO DO WITH WASIM JAFFER Who is not a ODI Player.

INDIA should see the FITNESS,Mental Sessions.

GOOD LUCK Team India

Remember one thing the team should play but not the COACH.Coach is a GUIDE.

concentrate on main job
by ganesh on Nov 01, 2006 12:39 PM  Permalink

We have world class playersbut

In this world each and every movement for moneymoney..I think Cricketers are earning much higher money from the others (particularly in advertisement). So they are concentrating on that.on that only.Keep them away/restrict them from other works and ask them to do their main job(Cricket). Definitely it will workout.

Or try with new 11, we have 100+ crore people.

India can be world beaters.
by binu on Nov 01, 2006 12:39 PM  Permalink

India can be world beaters again. But we need some tricks. The first thing captain should be aggressive. He should motivate the players especially in the field.Remember the 'huddle' during the last WC.What is missing from the indian team is Spirit and confidence.Somebody should inject these to team india. The best suited person will be the Captain itself.Second thing we need to improve the pace bowling department. We have world class bowlers. But the problem with these bowlers are they are using sam e ploy in all pitches. The should bowl acording to the pitch conditions. One very good example is pathan itself .He is a very good swing bowler. But if the pitch is lifeless he is not changing his line and grip .All indian bowlers are using very tight grip on the ball.If they are bowling with loose grips they will get good benefits iam sure.Indian should appoint a very good bowling coach.I prefer Richard Hadlee.India need Sandy Gordan's service also..

What a joke
by Bharath on Nov 01, 2006 12:12 PM  Permalink

India cannot be world beaters. Warriors are born and not made. It is stupid to think that Sourav Ganguly who cant even perform as a batsmen will change all this. I think he should bid good bye to international cricket. Dravid is the best , selfless and best leader India has had. Chappell is a very good coach. Indians in general do not have the killer instinct. They are more of the family oriented kind rather than the warrior and exploring kind. You cannot change this. They are not sportive or adventorous people. They can only be fit for desk jobs and others which do not involve much hard work. If only other teams like australia become world losers , India will become world beaters.

India needs to improve drastically
by Viplav on Nov 01, 2006 11:47 AM  Permalink

I think it is time we get back Sourav, Laxman back in the team. The selectors have finally woken up ad have brought back Kumble. Also BCCI needs to keep a very strict check on Mr. Chappel as his motives definitely look doubtful. Dravid needs to be a lot more aggressive as a captain. Youngsters like Raina and R.P. Singh are absolutely not ready for International cricket so we need to show them the door. Sehwag needs to be reprimanded on his careless attitude he cannot keep playing the way he is and get away with such hugely inconsistent performance. Dravid is still new as captain and does need people like Sachin and Sourav and Kumble to advice him and help him in taking decisions. The team should be as follows
Sehwag
Sachin
Sourav
Dravid
Laxman
Yuvraj
Dhoni
Pathan
Agarkar
Harbhajan/Kumble
Muna f patel
Reserves
Kaif
Sreesanth
Powar
If we persist with this 15 man squad till the world cup i have no doubt in my mind with this right blend of Youth and experience we can be world beaters and beat even Australia.

Passion is required
by Ramesh Sistla on Nov 01, 2006 11:42 AM  Permalink

I think the players are not getting inspired by the India cap. All the modern techniques will be of no avail if there is no pride in playing for your country. Once that love is there, intensity in the game will not be far. We are seeing India play unintense and uninspiring cricket only because there is no valuing the India cap. John Wright never lost an opportunity to emphasise this. With due respect to Chappell's methods and experience< I don't see that happening. Hope things will improve.

How to make India world-beaters?
by Mukesh Mane on Nov 01, 2006 11:27 AM  Permalink

I think, Indian team has lost that fire to ride on top of the opposition. They showed a glimpse of it against Srilanka last year, but they are again back to square-one. They should really focus on not just Winning the match, but 'RECORD-BREAKING WINNING' the matches against any team. Too much favoritism to Sehwag who fails in 10 matches and plays in 1, then again fails in 10 matches. He is still in the team. Do we treat the same way to Raina, Hemang Badani, Mongia, Kaif? These guys whenever included, they by and large perform and show their presence. In the last match against Australia of ICC trophy on 29th Oct, where was the fire to cross 300 mark, they were just trying to cross 250 which was peanuts for Aussies and India knows it very well. Still????

Change the coach, shuffle non-performers, fire the players, do whatever you want, unless the team has fire to kill the opposition, forget World Cup, We cannot even win a Local Cup.

Best Regards,
Mukesh Mane.
