Tendulkar just missed his century by 99 runs
by Amit on Nov 30, 2006 09:40 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Oh what a splendid peformance by TEAM INDIA.And again the GREAT Tendulkar just missed his century by 99 runs, yes he was unlucky to miss the century.Let him play against the mighty "Kenyans" he will show how great a player he is.Really he is the greatest bat of the world, just try to dig hard into your memories you might come come up with one or two great innings of his against the MIGHTY Bangladesh where he "ALMOST" ensured India's victory.I have a request to BCCI ,Pls arrange a tournament or a series involving Bangladesh ,Kenya and Zimbabwe so that our great players can prove their worth. Also please ensure that these matches are held in the FAST AND BOUNCY INDIAN Pitches, otherwise these great batsman won't be able to perform.

You are right. BCCI should keep arranging regular series with Kenya, Bangladesh, Zimbabwe and other debutant teams like Holland, Canada so that we can ensure the world records by Schin of highest number of centuries both in ODIs and tests, are not brocken by either Lara or Ponting. It also is necessary to select him to the team forever without any age limit or caring what skills he still retains. After all the media has been touting for long that thogh all the three are of the same class, Tendulkar is the best.

what a shame .i think when indian players play they only see them in advertisement with the beutifull girl only .they dont see the indian flag and pride of india .they should be kept there itself after this africa tour and should be put in african forest and the tourist from all over the world will see them raoming in a diciplined manner like other animals.

India is such a team which can turn the figures at any moment.
As we saw in last world cup no one could perdict that India would enter in the final. But they made it.
So we should keep faith in our boys especiaaly in senior players..
Surely we will do some wonderful.....
Keep Rocking Indians

INDIAN BLUES NEVER GO AWAY
by Ak on Nov 30, 2006 08:58 AM  Permalink

Indian cricket team deserved to lose against this SA team.Simply because SA performed better.Gibbs had every reason to be happy and summed up everything by simply putting it as"It is good to win ,even when we know we are not playing our best".I wonder how the indian team will fare once the SA team starts playing its best?

India lose again without a fight
by Oldmonk on Nov 30, 2006 08:53 AM  Permalink

Shots which normally would have found the boundaries, are turning into catches because of the brilliant field placement and fielding skills of the South Africans. That has made a huge difference.

You cant till earth with donkeys, you need mules or oxen.
by Shyamal Mitra FCA on Nov 30, 2006 08:33 AM  Permalink

So another full face knockout to Pepsi Corporations' blown out of lifesize, paper stalwarts? Nothing unexpected though, is it not? I mean this unfit team will not stand to enter World Cup's quarter-finals with its present state of affairs.

Mr.Rahul Dravid? Hoo Haa India! I love India! All and more of your and your C grade teams' ad hypes will fade out faster than you think today! Those ad giving corporations will drop you and your other Ads-Hero-Criket-Zero mates in dungpiles before the year runs out! Mark me!

And you Mr.Sachin? India's history making son of pride and equated by the media with the nations topmost leaders (perhaps the dwindling standards of India's political leaders of now)! What happened yesterday? Forgot to take your morning cup of Boost? Your ads cause my kids to stick to that good for nothing breakfast milk addition when there are lots of better ones to choose from the market! You are not at all impressive these days. Operation or no operation the fact is that you have lost your prime and that is no fault! You are and will still continue to be a legend. Why not gracefully retire out before you see the writing on the wall.

Selectors & Coach! Up Yours!

Prem's comments
by krish on Nov 30, 2006 07:31 AM  Permalink

I enjoyed, as usual, the elaborate comments of Prem Panicker which I missed for some time in this series. The cryptic and pointed comments made me feel as if I have seen the match, even though no Indian fan would like to see Team India going down in such a pathetic way without even a semblance of a fight.Spineless performance by the Indian batsmen illustrates the fact that they are tigers in home-pitches only where the ball should not bounce more than knee-high. The only satisfaction of following the match was the meaningful comments of Prem.

Bring the Leader Back...
by Raghu Jetli on Nov 30, 2006 07:16 AM  Permalink

Some folks who scan the net for nothing wrote a lot negative about Ganguly and his attitude...
Now they are shouting with anger on a failed team.

Heard of Leadership? Arrogance, Insensitivity is sometimes part of the package but Hey! we have a pride to keep. India is as it is starved of Heros so we go back reading on ABs,SRKs,SRTs etc. which is very different from Western world where every field is celebrated due to the excellence individuals and teams achieve.
Since our biggest sport is Cricket we need a right Leader, who inspires, who is disgusting to some opponents and has his statistics right.

Get back Ganguly... let him score 15 runs...believe me the others will play well.
Celebrity CEOs were/are not necessarily great silo performers but they retain and inspires the best. That's what Teamwork and Leadership is all about.

And Oh! BTW, the review was too long, did not read after the first line...
So was my comments too in a way I guess ;) but may make sense to many now, atleast folks who are willing to change and who has seen leadership differences.

The conspiracy of silence about Tendulkar's performance
by Rupnarayan Bose on Nov 30, 2006 07:14 AM  Permalink

Team India will continue to perform badly as long as it lacks the guts to drop non-performers, keeps selecting players based on past glory and not on current form. The day they drop Tendulkar and ask him to regain his form in domestic cricket (not in international arena at the cost of India) before being reconsidered for inclusion, will be the day team India turn the corner. Further, there is an urgent need for change of attitude. Team India MUST know when to graft, when to build an innings (look at Gibbs), aim to last 50 overs, and not be in a hurry to catch the next flight out.

I am amazed at this conspiracy of silence about Tendulkar. We discuss Sewag, Pathan, Kaif and every one in the team. BUT, why is it that absolutely no one in the media, including Prem, ever talks about the lack of form of Tendulkar, about the damage that he is doing to the team by occupying a slot uselessly (and the demoralising effect that his inclusion has on the performers), or about dropping him?
Why is everyone - the commentators, the mediamen, the journalists, the selectors - so scared to talk about Tendulkar's failures, or about replacing him? WHY?????
