Yes but No
by vinodkothareeRohisa on Dec 26, 2006 03:26 PM  Permalink

Policywise it is write to call a non performing player back mid way from the tour. There is no sense if we keep a non performer in the side because he was part of the original team.

But I think that as far as Pathan is concerned he was not the person who should be called back. He only was the player who made some runs in One Dayers yes bowling he was not doing well but still he should be given a chance when he was not the part of first Test. Without knowing his form and without giving him reasonable chances calling him back is not justified. There are Viru, Jaffar, Harbhajan and who may be called . What Injured Munaf is doing there?VRV Singh has been given chance to play in first test. He is there. Pathan has not been given chance he is being called. What a tragedy with Pathan.

It is a foolish move
by Amjath on Dec 26, 2006 03:26 PM  Permalink

It is a foolish move to send Pathan back. Pathan should have played instead of VRV Singh. Pathan has good batting ability which will boost the lower middle order. It will definitely shatter pathan's confidence.

Was it right to send Irfan back?
by SANJAY KUMAR on Dec 26, 2006 03:24 PM  Permalink

Hi,

Why so hue and cry over this. When he was sitting idle, expert were saying that he is merely a spectators on this tour. Now its Chappell's turn thru Vengy. His aim is very clear, take those who deliver. Now guess who is next.

We should take this in a positive manner, he can improve himself by playing domestic cricket. No shame.

With Regards

irfan back
by sarfaraz on Dec 26, 2006 03:19 PM  Permalink

I think its right to send Irfan back to play Ranji. He is a good player who is not performing he can play in ranji and get back to form so that he can play good cricket for India..The reason behind Australia's success is this when u not perform they send their players to play domestic cricket..I want Sehwag to be send back, he is not performing for a year now..

The same yardstick should be applied to everybody and most of the Indian team should be sent back to India.

May be right
by Mohammad Faheem-uz-zama on Dec 26, 2006 03:15 PM  Permalink

I couldn't say it is a right move. But still feel that it may help Pathan in regaining his form back. But if the board and selectors have taken this as a serious move, then i hope that it should be done to all the struggling players right now in the Indian team.Yes, it does really affect the morale of the players, but at times you are compelled to do it.

Decision about Irfan
by Awnish singh on Dec 26, 2006 03:11 PM  Permalink

Keeping coming world cup in mind , i think this is

right decision in favour of Irfan Pathan. He is one of the crucial member of ODI squad for the team. His form is very important for teams performance in the worl cup...His current form a defenitely a concern and he should regain it for the benefit of the country.
