Policywise it is write to call a non performing player back mid way from the tour. There is no sense if we keep a non performer in the side because he was part of the original team.
But I think that as far as Pathan is concerned he was not the person who should be called back. He only was the player who made some runs in One Dayers yes bowling he was not doing well but still he should be given a chance when he was not the part of first Test.
