I don't think that any player should send back in the middle of the tour because it would break the players confidence instead of the ...

ICC and its laws
by santhosh on Dec 28, 2006 04:33 PM  Permalink

We have spoke about India not performing in ODIS in the ongoing SA tour.
Congratulations to the team .What a test match the last one was.
But one issue is always put me on thinking.
Watch Andrea Nel when bowls and stares and talks to the the batsman, no action taken and not even a warning given.
But when Sreeshanth bows and said namasthe to one of their batsman immediately he was fined.
Plus in the ongoing match in the first innings sreeshanth was warned by the the umpire while speaking to Boucher.
Can we have ICC work on its laws wherein most of the times the whites are priortized.
Racism is still going on in these Era.
Its not onlly the issue with the SA wherever you go ex australia or England
Match refree can you have an action against that Nel who lacks human values , behaves like a stray dog.
Why always Players of the sub continent have face all the fines.

reg. irfan pathan
by charan on Dec 28, 2006 04:29 PM  Permalink

NO, definetly not... i dont think he should have been sent back and that too without trying him in any of the tests....,I didnt know why there are concentrating so much on his form when other players like shewag, jaffer, dhoni and all are also not performing well. and he didnot get the chance to play the test also.....

i personally felt that they should have given him chance, he also has the ability to bat...he can actually help our batting standards as well...

seeing all these i feel there's some politics going on in our board to send pathan back....

Rite Decision
by Ankit Goyal on Dec 28, 2006 04:20 PM  Permalink

I am very happy that indian selectors can also take tough decisions like the australians....It is right decision to send Irfan back to India from the African tour in between as he should also realise where he is lacking behind...He is really a great player but nobody is perfect but everyone can do well....So he should learn the techniques and get in the form again and be in our Indian who made us proud that we are Indian...Come on India Dikhado duniya ko Batado...ALL THE BEST

Regarding Irfan being sent back
by Sandesh Sunder on Dec 28, 2006 04:12 PM  Permalink

Its absolutely wrong tht pathan is being sent back. So if they (selectors) think that pathan is not in form, where do they think Sehwag and Sourav stand?

Whatever it is you have to encourage the youngsters by giving them a chance instead of giving a chance to elders(that too not in form).

PATHAN - A Bad Move
by MUNISH CHANDAN on Dec 28, 2006 03:56 PM  Permalink

Pathan Shoud'nt be sent back ... atleast he was scoring and contributing MORE than other batsmen like Sehwag. If not Very Good in Bowling but atleast Good he is.

Indian Team will Suffer because of this move...

Suggestion is that Irfan to be called back in Current Team replacing Sehvag.

Plz Reply

Was it right to send Pathan back?
by muzzammil on Dec 28, 2006 03:47 PM  Permalink

According it was not right to send Irfan back because, his is not only a bowler but also a good batsmen & he has proved it by hitting a century in one of the practice matches. If you see Sehwag's record of last couple of matches then Pathan is better than Sehwag. THEN WHY ONLY PATHAN ??????

Absolutely absurd decision!!! If "performance" is the criteria, then he should not even have been selected for the tour, but having been selected, he should have part of the team till the conclusion of the tour.

This will dampen his confidence level!!
