It was not right in Pathan's case. However if this was supposed to be a benchmark, then shortly we would see the entire indian team returning from SA in no time. Secondly its high time SACHIN, SEHWAG are returned back home. Atleast we can make do with 2 more good players. Thirdly, Irfan has always a chance to get back into form. Most importantly he is a kind of an allrounder. Just because saurav performed in one match does not mean that he will perform and Irfan not performing in few matches should not cause such a grave concern. Is it that celebs should be untouched and freshers being targeted? Better still, let India not play cricket any more. Its IN A SORRY STATE AS IT IS...
Yes I a player is not performing good then its good that he shud take rest and then again come back with fresh energy and forget about past and should concentrate on future because everyday this is new day and new match and starts from begining and analysis should be made that where he was doing mistake. In this way there is no reason why he can't come back again with good performance
He is the swing bowler and Shouth Afrika's pithes would have shoot to him. Atleat he is good in compare to VRV singh. He can also contribute with bat than other.
So sending Pathan back to India was a bad decision.
yes it is a very good. pathan will go back to domestic cricket. sharpen his skills and will comeback to form shortly. it proves that nobody is indispensable.
Sehwag and some other players who did not do well should be rested for one seasons and should be asked to prove themselves in Ranji matches to be eligible for any test/one day tourney. A nominal cut in their advertisement revenues should also be imposed to rein in players who take their place for granted. Nobody is indispensible. See what is happening in Australia. With so many talented players breathing down their necks, the existing players really sweat it out and give their best to remain in team. Such should be the course adopted in India too.
I dont know whether it is right or wrong to send Irfan back, the time will tell. For me he should have been in the second test insted of VRV Singh, which would have strengthened the batting lineup a bit. And might be in the seaming conditions of SA Irfan wd have proved good. Also Gautam Gambhir should have been in the team insted of non performing Shewagh. This could have given us advantage in the opening slot by playing a lefthander. If atall sending Irfan is a good desicion then it should have been 'send back Shewag,Sachin & Irfan'. Sachin's one fifty in a yr doesn't do any justis to his caliber either.
Irfan Pathan is pitiable. These people instead of allowing him to concentrate on his bowling made him into an unnecessary batsman. Now he is not bowling well. Let him be a fast bowler first. He need not bat.
