very good step
by Subramanian.K.R on Dec 29, 2006 09:03 PM  Permalink

It is good that he his back to bangalore, in order to improve his bowling, there have seen there should be change in batting too, where india have problem with opener so there can take S.S.Das and there can oppournity to Sharath, who is performing exetremely well in first class cricket. Sharath is the right batsmen to be for test series.

Wrong step
by Farzan on Dec 29, 2006 08:05 PM  Permalink

Thats unfair i would say and if the non-performers are required to send back then Sehwag should have been the first one to be send back rather than Pathan. If Pathan is failing in bowling, atleast he could bat better than Sehwag. This is another wrong step taken by our authorities.

Pathan
by tony dahiya on Dec 29, 2006 07:31 PM  Permalink

Hi,

He is the only batsman who has scored a century in south africa. You can select him as a batsman. Its not good to throw him out of the team. If i were in place of Irfan Pathan i would have say Bye Bye to the team forever. Every body is out of form and in this hard time he has scored a century. Dont select him as a bowler but select him as an allrounder. This is nothing but politics. Gautam Gambhir is a very good player but they are not giving him chance. Jaffer and sehwag are shitting on the pitch everytime. Give a chance to gambhir, Even your tendulkar is an idiot. He thinks like he is a champion. I am challenging him if he will win over me in one to one. Man why dont you try something else. If a son is not doing weel consistently in studies or in business then his father kicks his Ass and throw him out of that field. If a Father can do this then why selectors can't. Come on man you need changes. Jayasuriya, Injamam, Ponting, Astle, Lara all are doing weel and they are also of tendulkar's age. Concentration chahiye

Why can't Sewhag be sent back?
by Anand Sampath on Dec 29, 2006 06:47 PM  Permalink

What stops Rahul and Greg from sending Virender Sewhag back? His consistent failure with the bat for umteen innings in both forms of the game has been questionable. Probably the cricket board and management should consider him only for One dayers and that too in India considering his batting abilities.

Non performers

Its high time that Virendra Sehwag should be given an opportunity to refresh his skills and to regain his confidence by making him to play in domestic matches.

Irfan Pathan
by NIKI SURABI on Dec 29, 2006 06:14 PM  Permalink

Sending back Pathan was a knee jerk re-action. Considering his age, he should have been retained back. One learns by watching too. Its not as if he is not trying. Besides he hit the first century of the tour. On present batting form, there are others who should have been sent back ahead of Pathan. The move is reminiscent of what the Pak cricket board used to do with its captains till the recent past.
Now that he is back, what he needs is a stint with Mr.Lillee. Not another Ranji game.
