by Ajay on Jan 02, 2007 04:29 PM  Permalink

Its not right to send Irfan pathan back. He is a good allrounder in indian team.If it is right, then should be send back all non performance player {Like-Sehwag, Jafar, VRV Singh, Sachin & Rahud Dravid}

What's Shewag Doing there?
by Sandeep Hebick on Jan 02, 2007 04:14 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Hell!!! Patan might be out of form in his line and leghth...But could have banked upon for his batting skills at lower order. It is the lower order which is saving and winning matches.
What i dont understand is if Patan was sent back for his poor performance what is Shewag still doing there?

Hi Sandeep Hebick,

Hats of to you buddey for the anger you are having with Shewag. I too stand on your side and raising the same question. I do not know why the management is simply keeping quiet by seeing Shewag's failure. Immediately he should have sent back to India for his worst perfomance and he should not given chance to play the world cup also. Anothe thing is, these people must not be allowed for any advertisements and each should be given points according to their performance and the salary has to be given based on their points, right.

First, let us hope for the good thing to happen in these kinda things. If this has been done then everything will become alright with their attitude and definitely there might be a chance of getting into the World Cup final.

Regards,
Jacob Charles

Send back all the non performers
by hariharan on Jan 02, 2007 04:04 PM  Permalink

This is the very good decession that selection committee to recall all the non performers from the middle of the tour even if is sachin sehwag.

decission must be neutral, since, vensarkar from bombay he will give importance to sachin and Sehwag is senior player. he should be neutral.

Very bad performance by sehwag. useless. before world cup please fix a good members is team.

Noooooooooooo
by srinivas on Jan 02, 2007 03:48 PM  Permalink

No, not at all, its a foolish thing to send pathan back who is having all rounder skills, the winning rate of india was increased when pathan joined the team few years back.

If that is the case, players who are not form need practice, then what about Sehwag and Kaif, both have got countless chances in one days when they are not scoring enough runs.

But player like pathan needs to get more chances, by giving him chances only he can improve, its a big foolish thing to send pahtan back, he is a up coming all rounder, i expected this back chappell is doing a foolish thing, may be pathan is not having any big hands behind him thats y he is sent back,

I want to share one thing with bcci if possible, on which criteria basis they are giving chances to players, if pathan is not in form then what about veeru, kaif, jaffer and vrv.
Is vrv more effective than pathan, no way he is having only speed but no length.

Great move!!
by Nitin Pande on Jan 02, 2007 03:46 PM  Permalink

There is no free lunch and that too for so long... Great decision by the Board; one of the very few correct and bold decision. It will be good for Pathan as well..He just seems to have lost it and will need time away from the spot light for him to come back with a bang.

Was it right to send Irfan Pathan
by RAFATS on Jan 02, 2007 03:41 PM  Permalink

I think this is a GOOD move for the non performers, and also the lesson for others to focus on playing rather than all the time focussing on money making.

It is time we do the same treatment to Sehwag and Dhoni.
In my view the new players should be banned from doing any commercial at least in their first 3-5 years with Indian team.

The huge money has made them so careless, arrogant and media foccused only.

All these players MUST understand that they should stop playing with our emotions and making mockery of 1000 million people at home.

Present performance counts.
by Yeshu Ratnam on Jan 02, 2007 03:18 PM  Permalink

It hurts to see that one of our 'future' player is out of the team. But there must be no compromise on the presnt performance of the player.Let him gain the past momentum in his bowling and then regain his place in the team.
