ALL 'SMS' TYPE CONTEST SHOULD BE BANNED IN TV. PROPER TALENT IS NOT JUDGED. WHAT IS THE USE OF SITTING JUDGES THEN ? IT IS HUMILIATING TO OTHER CONTESTANTS. THESE HAS BECOME A GREAT BUSINESS SHOW NOW BY FOOLING THE MILLION OF PEOPLE.

It is high time such contests are banned as more than making an idol, they make millions. In earlier cases also there were better contestants (I do not say Tamang does not reserve it). The pomp and show make the gullible public hysterical as if they do not have any other job to do.

The whole SMS thing is a ploy by the mobile services companies to make money. Millions of Indians (read fools) SMS their candidate and in the bargain the mobile services companies make pots of money and there is a profit sharing arrangement with the TV channel and the Producers of the show. An Indian Idol (or any Idol) cannot be chosen by mere votes of ordinary people, vast majority of who do not know much about music. The verdict of eminent judges like Javed Akhtar and Anu Malik should be final - that chosen person can truly be called Indian idol.

Guys .. don't forget that, this is an Indian Idol competition and the Idol should be selected by all indians not by few people considered as Judge. If people doesn't have sense to choose proper talent then there is problem in us not in TV Show's arrangement. Guys in my opinion in this kind of competition voting via SMS or CALL is the best idea to get people's involvement.
I fully agree with you and would like but it should be free SMS and not Rs. 3.00. I would suggest that it should have toll free numbers then only we can have a real Idol ib making. If you look at Indian Idol 2 Karunya was much deserving candidate but he did not win. In the current edition it was Emon. But in both the cases it was surprise from the local voting.

who is prasanth??? how a TV channel can say he is a Indian Idol?? whether he done anything remarkably in any field?? its jimmick by TV channels and media..
