tribute to rafi sahab
by rituraj dwivedi on Jul 31, 2006 05:35 PM

We should consider ourselves to be blessed having heard the immortal voice of Rafi sahab. There is nothing more we can say about the man, the performer who has enchanted whole generations .

Some interesting facts about Rafi Sahab:

1) He loved homemade tea specially prepared for him, which he used to bring during the recordings. The tea used to be made with lot of milk , boiled and thickened

2) He gave Rs. 500/- each to Laxmi-Pyare when he recorded his first song with them (tere pyar ne mujhe gum diya). He told them to keep it and remain as a jodi

3)He was modest to the core of heart and used to speak very little. In words of famous singer Bhupendra, he changed his singing style with mere 10 minutes of counselling session

4) He always thought of improvements. When he was at the peak of his carrear and Khayyam was still establishing himself, he told him that "give me some very good song, mujhe kuchh bana do"
