TALENT SPEAKS
by R Balasubramanian on Dec 19, 2007 02:08 PM  Permalink

Let Nandakumar take up the plight of most of lorry drivers and cleaners whose living is pathetic and who are paid penny and harassed a lot by both employers and law enforcers taking advantage of their illeteracy and ignorance. Let their minimum salary and other statutories are fixed and the time of working should be stricly eight to ten hours and for long hauling there should be two drivers and two cleaners. There is no proper employment rules for transport crews and the Labour Department is highly corrupt being regularly paid by the companies once a year. Most of the accidents happen at night not due to drivers negligence but due to over-work (continuous driving for morethan eighteen hours) Even the drivers/cleaners welfare are taken care of in case of accidents and their salaries not paid during convulsing period. Though there are many unions, their support is just like onions.

This is written after studying the activities being in transport business for morethan fifteen years. Except a very few transport companies, most of the others are only after spinning money and cares less for their employees who earns them.

If Nandakumar does something to his father's line of business he will be remembered by one and all in unorganised transport industry.

congrats for all civil toppers this year
by G V Rao on Jun 09, 2007 11:02 PM  Permalink

First of all I want congrats all the toppers this year.
Next I want to remind them that, not to forget how they faced problems by him and his family members to reach this goal.
Next, keeping all this, try to help the poor people, who really needs government support to come up in their life.
Next is, dont expect and encourage any kind of 2nd money, means-bribes, because of this only, your family might have faced, so dont forget it.
Next, be sincere and honest relating to the poor people needs.
If any body thinks this is excess-excuse me.

Hi Nandakumar

Congratulations on your success. It proves that amidst all this anarchy, there is still some hope. Don't let politics corrupt you, and even if it does, stay humane.
