Exectly. I hope you meant P. Tamang. Even then, who is P. Tamang??? Indian have started idolizing pretty much everything and anything. Tomorrow, Dhoni's supports will stop an ambulance and start vandalizing shops. Day after tomorrow, it will be Aishwarya's supporters doing the same thing. Indians have started losing their own identity and started living a life of someone who they can fall-back on. I am truely sorry for what happened, what has happening for the past few years, and what may happen if people lose their identity and individuality completely.
I watched Indian Idol for quite a length of time. The personal qualities of Prashant came through his behaviour all through. He was huble to begin AND end with.I personally think Amit also matches his qualities. But in the end it was reduced to pure numbers.Nothing else mattered.I am from West Bengal,Darjeeling is in my state. So I should vote for Prashant--or should I? I think even prashant knows he was not the best.I am of the opinion that Amit should have won.But prashant had the numbers. Here's a thought for the organisers of the show. They have HAD TO hand over the contract to the WINNER, but not the BEST SINGER. My suggestion: Let the panel judges have the maximum weightage.Sms may have say 20% weightage, the rest should be for the judges.Otherwise, why are they there?
You cannot blame the show or the people voting for it. Its all a gimmick. What is astonishing is that the Indian youth is now completely inundated by TV, and they have taken the bait. You will not find youg people doing anything ti improve the society they live in, yes they will crticise it, but... They will fight on the streets (and on the internet), but the prefer watching TV when we have the general elections. The society is rotting.
Hi all, When even BBC and ITV channels in UK have admitted to this, one can only imagine what happens in India. People who phone in are just throwing their hard earned money to these TV channel owners.

Sorry, I forgot to give the website ref. http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/topstories/2007/07/19/bbcheats-89520-19477536/
Just like we should boycott parliamentary elections which is just an money spending excersice without any benefits to the voters.... similary public should stop sms'ing and boycott such sms contests.
Do the channels make public the figures they recieve. If they take our sms, they should divulge how much each got? So its all a sham. BOYCOTT!!
