Mohammad rafi was not only a great singer he gave to the world of music a voice, which could do wonders to the melody. He has given to the world of music, the milestones which could never be erased and not even touched. He has simply passed the levels where no mortal being voice could even be compared.
Though he was unique, yet his voice provides you such solace that all the miseries of life and short comings seems to fade away
Ilike his song 'pipraa ke patwa sang dole hai re manwa, jiya mein uthat hai hillor, purwa ke sang aayo re sandeshwa tu chasl aaj deshwa ki or' very much
His songs picturised over devji, shammiji, dharmendraji, dilipji, and to certain extent jeetendraji, rajendraji shall keep providing the humans of all ages to have faith on the life and its journey.
His song Ek Banjara gai jeewan ke geet sunaye, Ham sabko jeene ki raah seekkhai... kaagaj ke phoolon se bbhi....
Sir we miss you but you have given us enough to keep moving ahead. Rabba khair
I remember mohd. rafi, since he was my all time favorite singer. Throughout my school & later college days I used to practice Maths by listening to his songs. I think he was the best singer of his times, no doubt there were versatile singers like mukesh, kishore kumar, manna dey. But for me he was the best. To name his best what i would prefer "Tarif karoon kya uski, jis ne tumhe banaya" from Kashmir ki kali. And host of songs sad, joyful, melodious.
Main Gaoon Tum So Jaao Sukh sapno main so jaao Main Gaoon Tum So Jaao...
Maana Aaaj Ki Rat Hai Lambi Maana Din Tha Bhari Par Jag Badla Badlegi Ek Din Taqdeer Hamari Us din key Khwab Sajao Main Gao tum so jao....
This song sung by Rafi Sahab for orphan children had a big impact on my thinking, career and life too. When I took up work with street and working chilren, I understood the pain Shammi Kapoor undergoes in arranging resources for them. And Rafi Sahabs words really exhibit that pain. These words exhibits pain that we all the time undergo.
On his death anniversary, I dedicate these lines from Mirza Ghalib to him:
Hain aye falak-e-peer jawan that abhi arif; kya tera bigarta jo na marta koi din aur. Tum aisey kharey kaun sey they dad-o-sitad key; ke na karta malakul maut takada koi din aur.
God has given his voice to rafi saab. his songs were pure, provided the listener with immense peace. his songs from Baiju bawra and kaagaz ke phool are my all time favs along with every one he sang for shammi kapoor. He cud sing difficult songs with such simplicity. hardly we will find any person who doesn't like his songs. in one simple sentence, he was, is and wil always remain the greatest. He is there in our heart. I pay my tribute to rafi saab.
He was truly the voice of India and today by seeing all the messages posted on rediff, we can proudly say that he is immortal and will live in the hearts of millions of people across the globe.
I have a few good collections of Mr.Rafisaab. My fav are chalo ek baar, koya koya chand, yeh chand sa roshan chehra, baiju bawra and many more (the list is endless)
Would have been happy if anyone fm his family followed his footsteps.
