Rafi saab is a genious with one of the most refreshing voices among all singers in India. My fav song from him is "Ehsaan Tera Hoga Mujhpar". The depth & sweetness in his voice is unparalled in the whole music industry.. Long live the legend..

He is indeed one of best singers India has ever produced. His songs can be enjoyed even today. It's difficult to pick the best song, infact most of his songs are the best. We miss him in everyday of our life. Jab tak suraj chaand rehega, Rafi saab ka naam rahega.

Rafi Sahab is next to God
by Mathew Kochezhikkakathu Thomas on Aug 01, 2006 07:01 PM  Permalink

Rafi's is the one voice that has been imitated the most,to be called a Rafi clone is actually regarded as a compliment by most newcomers. Yet, no one has been able to recreate the Rafi magic.Yes..Sonu Nigam to some extend. At best, these singers will be able to imitate just one aspect of his voice. But nobody possesses the versatility that Rafi did becaz his voice is coming from the Soul

I am not just a Rafi fan, I worship him and his songs

The Rafi jewels which I like the most are
Diwana Hua Badal(Kashmir ki kali),
Tere mere sapne(Guide),
Aise to na dekho(Teen Deviyan),
Abhi na jao chod kar(Hum dono),
Pukarata chala hu main(Mere Sanam)

Rafi remembered
by Nobin Pradhan on Aug 01, 2006 05:00 PM  Permalink

I shall always remember Rafi as a God sent gift. I rever him to this day and shall continue to do so till the end. Funny songs, romantic songs, songs of worship, sadness,
patriotism ghazals and classical songs such a wide range and yet Rafi, sang them all leaving behind an indelible mark on listeners like us.

I perceive Rafi has left an immortal mark in the music world and not just on Hindi cinema .This is for two reasons one for his sheer versatility. Such a complete singer. Secondly, he never sounded phony or syrupy or fake while singing. Recall the way he would emphasise a word or utter them while singing . The feelings ,the moods in any song were conveyed by Rafi so accurately and profoundly.

Indeed I miss him. While he was on this planet, God himself missed him sorely. Probably that explains why Rafi left all of us so early and I am certain he is currently enthralling the Creator.
