In short, i would only say that he the God of music. One of my favourite Rafi number is MAN RE TOO KAHEY NA DHEER DHAREY from the film CHITRALEKHA and the music is by the GREAT...........ROSHAN.
we r yet to get a genuine n versatile singer after the demise of Md.Rafi he has left a void space in the bolloywoodi i dont think in 10 centuries we r going to get a singer of his calibre n his class,the way he sang for from Bharat Bhushan to Govinda he fits in all.His contribution to bollywood cannot be forgotten.
i cant pick one song from a reservoir,its really the toughest task to do.
u can live with and stay charmed by a spectrum of all time superb hits of rafi g : kise pesh karoon,aaj purani rahon se,baharo phool barsao,main peeta nahin hoon,meri dosti mera pyar,hui sham unka khyal aa gya,jab jab bahar aai,tum bin jauun kahan,na aadmi ka koi bharosa-to racall a few.the list is endless. rafi g was an institution in himself and a guide rather a becon of inspiration to many singers of the coming generations
He was a great singer & human being. He was a very versatile singer. my favourite song is " Mein ye sochkar uske dar se" from Movie "Haqeeqat". we really miss a great singer & human being.
Rafiji was really a very versatile singer. I think, he was the only singer( to some extend Kishore Da also) who can sing any type of song like Qwali, Bhajan, Comedy song ( for Mehmood & Jonny Walker), Love songs etc. I known hundreds of beautiful songs of Rafi and wants to share some of them with you.
1. Tum bin Jaon Khan- from Pyar ka Mausam.
2. Rahi Manwa dukh ke Chinta- Dosti.
3. Tarif karan kya Us Ki, Jis ne tumhe banaya- Kashim Ki Kali.
4. Pukarta Chala Huan Mein, Gali Gali- Mere Sanam.
5. Tum Ne Mujhe dekha Huo kar Meharban- Tesri Manzil.
and thousands of memorable songs. I can hardly find a song, sung by Rafi saab, which is not good ( except few songs sung in late 70's).

from the deepest corner of my heart i salute the talent,the work of rafisaab.he is one of the finest singer india has ever produced.the most i like abut him was his simplicity,his amicable personality &his diversified talent in singing.his contribution to film industry can not be measured.he has given his life for this industry.he is a legend of the century.i can still remember as a 7 yrs old child the day rafisaab died.that the is a worstday in the history as he snatched our dearest singer from us.
i pray in this holy occasion that his soul must stay in peace in the heaven.
people like Md. Rafi can born ONCE & can die ONCE.
