Tribute to Rafi saheb.
by Ashwin on Jul 31, 2006 07:30 PM  Permalink

Hello to every1 who is reading dis article.Well, unfortunately i was not in dis world wen Rafi saheb passed away. So,i consider this as a honour to write a few words abt him.
Rafi saheb was probably d only singer whose voice touched one's soul. The emotions, feelings & the ultimate voice which he could produce was simply amazing!Naushaad saheb had rightly said wen Rafi saheb passed away"Zindagi ka taar tuta, aur tarana so gaay"It's impossible 2 replace a singer like Rafi saheb.

In the memory of Rafi Sahab
by Atif Z. Khan on Jul 31, 2006 07:29 PM  Permalink

As the Don Bradman is incomparable in Cricket, so did the Rafi Sahab was for singers. When we watch the songs in movies, it looks like that the actor on which the song is picturised is actually singing the song, he adopt the style of the actor in such a way that he transformed his singing in the manner in which that particular actor is known.
I don't remember a day gone by, when I didn't heard his song.
My favourite songs were
* Tum jo mil gaye ho
* Tu is tarah se meri zindigi main shamil hain
* Yeh mera prem patra padkar

Atif Z. Khan

best voice till date
by raees on Jul 31, 2006 07:12 PM  Permalink

in my opinion rafisaab has got best voice till date and no one looks to match his quality his resonace his vesatility his pain....undoubtedly it was the best era of indian music when rafisaab was singing those romantic melaodies like.khoya khoya chaand...and grief at its best when he sang aapke pehloo, yeh duniya or hum tumse juda hokar......really he was perfect artist a nice human by nature honest towards his work and helpful towards others.....we never get the voice like him....he was a standard parameter in terms of voice quality and he will be.....
he aptly sang .....tum mujhe yun bhula na paaogae....and he still lives and will be forever....

Rafisaab
by rakesh sharma on Jul 31, 2006 07:08 PM  Permalink

His passing away has left a vaccum which no one will ever be able to fill.

He sang over 25,000 which at that was a world record.Just recently, A.R. Rahman mentioned he is searching for someone like Rafisaab. Will he find him? That's a big question.

Yes, he was a versatile singer, but was also a gem of human being and a gentleman. Even the great Manna de said he was the greatest of male playback singers in Hindi Cinema. I have a collection of his movie songs and private Mir Ghalib Gazals so soulfully rendered.

Least I can say is, I still miss him. May God rest his soul in peace.

remembering Mohd. Rafi

" Teri Awaz ki Jadugari Se Na Jaane Kis Jahan Mein Kho gaya hoon ". This rarely heard song from " Toofan Mein Pyar Kahaan " aptly sums up the mystical & hypnotic effect his inimitable voice had on the listeners.

The voice had the magic of transporting the listener to a different world which one can visualize only in dreams.

One can experience LIFE in Rafi's songs with the entire gamut of emotions finding it's ultimate destination in his voice.

Tum Mujhe Yun Bhoola na Paoge
jab kabi bhi sunoge geet mere
Sang Sang tum bhi Gun Gunaoge

That's RAFI for u.
