I still remember the day when Shri.Mohd.rafi passed away i was just 6yrs old & the Song "Kar Chale Ham fida janotan saathiyon,Ab tumhare hawale watan saathiyon" shown repeatedly on television made tears roll down my eyes at that time.such was his voice touching heart of many people.
I would like to call them as the TRIDEV of hindi film music that is Mukesh - Rafi - Kishore. There was nobody who could beat them & there shall never be anybody who shall equal them.
Despite being competitors to each other they shared a healthy relationship which is missing in todays lousy singers.
Jab kabhi bhi sunoge geet mere sang sang tum bhi gun gunaoge, very well said Rafi Saab we still feel your spirit around when ever I listen to any of your song then may it be Sirjo tera chakraye ya dil duba jaye or Nafrat ki duniya ko chodke pyaar ki duniya mein or Ye chaand sa roshan chehra zulfo ka rang sunhera and many many more to come.
Even after 26 years Rafi is with us and will remain with the next generations with his immortal voice. And yes, nobody on this universe can be like the great Mohammad Rafi
We cannot forget him and Hindi loving people of the world would ever remember him for centuries , as Tansen;a great loss to the lovers of real music, innumerable numbers, patriotic religious, comedy ete. etc .
He is the greatest singer india has ever produced. After 26 years of his death he is still remembered as one of the present singers. His songs are ever memorable to the ears of youth to elders.
Well i am not exactly of the age where you call been there seen it all. But believe me 31 years of age, 4 countries and you have had experience behind you. I am sentimental person ( very sentimental infact ). Over the years i have learned to control my emotions. But believe me whenever, whenever i listen to those magical words rendered by these ever great voices i just cannot help but break down. In these days of idiots like Himesh Reshmiyyas getting awards and the visuals doing more effect on a person's mind than the meaning or melody of the song moulding the soul, these people ( Rafi, Talat, Manna Dey, Hemant Da, Kishore, SD, RD ) let you find solace in something. They have left these invaluable treasure for generations to come. My first love with music was Kishore - as it happens for any person musical journey starts with songs which are popular and are simple to sing. But as life progressed and i started understanding the nuances of singing, i could not help but appreciate the pure quality, sincerity in voice, versatality of Rafi Saab's voice. It just became evident that Rafi's or Talat's dont happen overnight or do not come very often. I wish i had more lines. Thanks, Sanjay
