Dravid as captain has the support of Kapildev, imran khan and gavaskar, gayekwad
About retaining Dravid as the captain, Kapil said: %u201CWhy are we forgetting that this is the same Rahul Dravid who led India to victory while chasing 17 matches in a row, setting a new record. Why did not anybody question his captaincy then?

Gavaskar who was of the view that Dravid should continue as the captain despite the World Cup debacle.

"Rahul is 34 and you do not sack captains at 34 when they are peaking. I don't see any reason for a change because Dravid has not shown any sign of pressure. His batting has not faltered", he said.

Don't sack Rahul
By: anshuman gaekwad

The man who was sacked as coach after India%u2019s 1999 World Cup disappointment, calls for patience
The first thing to do now is to stick with Rahul Dravid as captain. He is a good leader and the best available option in the current circumstances. The other options could be Virender Sehwag and Yuvraj Singh. http://mid-day.com/sports/international/2007/march/154192.htm
Dravid is a leader, says chief selector http://www.rediff.com/wc2007/2007/mar/28dilip.htm
He is an experienced campaigner and has all the leadership qualities," Vengsarkar told national daily Times of India on Wednesday.
Vengsarkar recalled former Australia captain Richie Benaud's
'Batsmen let Dravid down' Gundappa Viswanath.

Dravid's captaincy has nothing to do with India's ouster from the World Cup in the preliminary round itself. It's not his fault. We lost to Bangladesh and Sri Lanka not due to his captaincy. It's his batsmen who let him down

Don't blame Dravid and Chappell

Dravid scoed 14 and 7 against Bangladesh and Bermuda respectively- great player!!!
Dravid scored 81 runs in aggegate.
Gnguly scored 161 in aggregate!!!
Ganguly slow player!
Most of them are not even that!!
Scoop-
Videocon has removed Rahul from the advertisement!!!
Sachin and Dhoni were also removed.
Team India ha ha ha.
Destroyed Destroyed and Destroyed,
by jealous More, ambitious Rahul
and crooked Chappel.
Cry India cry,
Cry like you cry at bereavement.
Cry and cry,
Let warm tears roll down your cheek
and you take a vow to appreciate the real
leader and the patriot
and vehemently protest the incompetence
and non performance of the blown up heros.

The Deserved should be Saluted:Not the Traitors!

There comes a traitor Bong once again.India hasn't included your Sourav in its squad for a test World Cup.Now you got to know whois the most selfish&jealous of them all-none other than your very own Dada. Was he playing so slowly in the opening match because the opposition was your very own Bong Dada-Bangladesh?How much did he score in that crunch match against the Lankans hitting that reckless shot?
But here you got it right-Ganguly is the lone one preferred by AD agencies. Its neither Rahul,Sachin nor Dhoni-its Dada-remember he'd appeared in a pepsi commercial even when he was out of the team-money matters you know?
Well,Rahul was inSansui,not Videocon!
The likes of Sachin,Rahul,Dhoni etc are just ambitious agreed-you got to be ambitious is the biggest treasure that every sportsperson should posses. But Sourav jealous, couldn't withstand the love&support offerd to Sachin by the fans,traitor-backstabbed at the most crucial moment thus taking revenge,snob-who considered him the greatest&couldn't take humiliation of playing under a person whom he had captained-very clever&tricky minded-truly Shakespeare' Iago in every sense!
You Mr Sengupta,by posting this message&demanding the Indians to cry proved yourself to be another traitor.

dravid vs ganguly during india's dismal WC campaign against sri lanka. dravid wins hands down..dravid's fighting knock stands out which included four consecutive fours in an over. The appalling way in which ''oh my god:( of off side'' played triggered the collapse. bottom line no more bongs(born losers) in indian cricket team. more of dravids uthappas and kumbles

Sahil your message is shocking, how xan you attack Sri Indra Sengupta in such a language.
How do you bring Bongs into the picture and conclude that no Bengali should be taken in the team.
This is sheerly regional and meaning less.

Media should not blame the cricketer. Instead India played better if you see the statistics of Rahul's captainship outside the subcontinent(India, Srilanka, Pakistan and Bangladesh).
Match played=17, won=5, lost=11, no result=1
Winning ratio=29.4%
In the world cup India played better with winning ratio=33.3%.
At the time of Ganguly's captainship (in 78 matches )India won nearly 53.8% match outside the subcontinent.

Ganguly as captain outside the subcontinent
Match played=78, won=42, lost=34, no result=2
Winning ratio=53.8%

Krrish,it was shown in a recent analyses that Rahul is superior to Ganguly as captain for the lone reason that while Rahul's victories came against the stalwarts,Ganguly's was mostly against smaller teams.

ganguly was captain for 5yrs a lengthier period and dravid is leading side from last 16 months. so more matches played under ganguly captaincy
can dravid lead side for equal no matches?
it was dravid kumble, laxman and sachin contributed lot to ganguly's success more than his leadership qulity. ganguly took the credit for hard work of other players but dravid atleast shared credit of victory with his teammates. dravid acceped his responsiblity for defeat infront of media Had ganguly ever did likethat? when team lost matches he was pushing dravid to conduct press briefs???
so achievement of five yrs can not be acheieved in 16 months still the diff between winning average is only 1%
Captaincy myth
Ganguly -5 yrs
Team won 76 odis out of 147 matches when ganguly was captain

out of 147 matches India won 76 (51.70%) lost 66 (44.90%) Tie or no results 5(3.40%) won 74 (50.34%)

But Saurav captained 34 ODI against minnows Bangla Desh Zimbabwe Namibia Kenya Netherlands Canada etc%u2026..

Dravid %u2013 16 months
Team won 33 odis out of 65 ( including this WC matches) when Dravid was captian

India won 33 (50.77%) lost 28 (43.08%)no result/ tie 4 (6.15%)

But Dravid captained ot 65 matches captained only two ODI against minnows i.e. Bangladesh and Bermuda
He is match winner in both forms at home and aboroad.
