There has been a spate of comments here telling More&Greg destroyed the team with their experiments&that Dravid was arrogant.I find such views as bunkum.

Any team which wants to remain on top for a consistent period of time should have players who adapt to situations&are fit&agile.

If ppl say Irfan lost his bowling skills becos he came in at 3,Sehwag lost his form because he was moved up&down the order etc then it lacks logic.

By the same token Ganguly/Wright made Dravid do all kinds of things:Wicket keeping,opening,1 down,5 down, did he not adapt, did he not do it for team's interest?

As for the emphasis on youth which worked for an year&flopped in WI,Triseries,Champions trophy&SA,I still believe that is the way to go forward. There might be downs but we need to persist with them.

As for Ganguly, where is the fluency of yore?He along with Tendulkar are poor shadows of their old self.

As for Laxman,he is a big liability on the field which takes away whatever Batting skills he has.

I would recommend Rahul&Greg continuing as Coach/Captain,telling Ganguly&Sachin to retire or else drop them, drop Dhoni(He can play only on flat subcontinental batting tracks)&bring in Dinesh Karthick, drop Sehwag with a stern warning that he will be considered only when he is back in form&reduces his weight&tell yuvraj in no uncertain terms that he is no star&needs to achieve a lot.

Give Greg a free hand so that he will be professional&ruthless, then see what happens. But as long as we treat our players like demi gods, then these kinds of defeats are going to persist.

Even now there are clamours to make Ganguly a captain again.Such regionalism by the public/selectors will do more harm than good.

Will the BCCI&more importantly our cricket loving public learn a lesson?

You are absolutely right!

I might disagree a bit on Sachin front because i feel he still works hard which is visible in his fitness. When he was batting badly you could see him practising hard and taking advice from Sunny etc. But again he should take rest for 6 months and then decide!

@ ajay d:- have u ever heard a sayings ur result speaks of ur effort. all ur favorite greg chappal n RD's effort r showing fruitful(!!!) results in WC in WI and SA tour some months back. It was the resurgent ganguly n shresanth's heroics which salvaged some pride of India. But the intelligent(!!!) dravid n chappal dint even gave chance to shreesanth n continued with gali cricketer agarkar...

giving greg a free hand will make india @ par with bermuda, kenya, etc. chappal was on paid onsite job by cricket australia to ruin the indian team. plus he earned money frm bcci.
