The image of Rahul Dravid wiping his tears, the sunken faces of Sachin & Yuvraj...and all other team members including the Coach!!! They tell a story -- none of our disappointment would compare with what these guys began to feel from the moment we became 112 for 6. If the Indian team had returned with the Cup...we would have partaken in the team's joy. Today is the moment of reckoning, for all of us. We have to stand tall and stand by them. Make them realise how much we have loved them, how much we cherish their performances and them... as our heroes. Next world cup; Rahul & Sourav at 38, Sachin at 37 -- very unlikely they would be there. Let's stand by them today to tell them we love the game and them. We understand it is only a game and it has the proverbial uncertainties. All the reason why we love it so madly. From a Loving Fan to All Fans of Indian Cricket.....

If I remember correctly,at so many times Rahul has commented that there is unnecessarily big hype regarding World cup in India.WC is just like any other tournament/matches. I hope now he has understood the WC and shall never forget the lesson.

Hats off to you Nishith for your very understanding and concerned mail. I hope everyone gets the message and supports the team, while the Cricket Board does the needful correction.

Well said. Thats how a good fan should treat the stars. They have done a lot for the game. If so many children are taking to the game, it is not just for the money involved in it.
The strong performances of Sachin, Dravid, Kumble and Sourav over the past so many years played a key role in sustaining the interest brought about by the players of the bygone era, like Kapil, Gavaskar, Vishwanath, Jimmy Amarnath and Vengsarkar. Forget about what they get by endorsing products. Let all the big players play for their respective states and zones and tone up their game. If more capable players can walk into the side by outperforming the proven stars, then its fine for the game.
