requirement of being cricket fan
by Ifear paceman on Mar 27, 2007 11:56 PM   Permalink | Hide replies

First wake up early morning. Brush teeth. Have tea or any thing.

Go to a ground have running of 5 rounds to a cricket ground or straight patch about 2 km.

Next take cricket ball or a stone weighing 160 grams throw at a distance of 50 mtrs 10 times.

do all massage to shoulders and legs at night.

Do the same feat again next morning.
If you are able to do it then start commenting on any sport including cricket.

Or else just go and do your work....

Why we loose Analysis
1 FRANCHISING, People think we loose because of quota system, but quota system itself is not bad.
Consider this West Indies during 60's 70's 80's use to have quota system for selection for each Island nation.
Our problem is Franchising or endorsement. Companies with media in their hand try to push there players in the team.
Our former players and selectors also let personal relationships decide who is going to play.
e.g. See Sandip Patil who is telling(Hamesha se kahte aa rahe hai) on star that new players should be given chance, just before match wanted
Kumble in for his experience.
If there is no franchising and we play team with 2 best players from each region we are likely to win the game.

2 BAD FIELDING,Ever considered why Jaysurya Chris Gyle are so hard to score against rather than Ganguli, Sachin as part time bowler.
Its fielding. Nothing beats a catch taken verses catch never attempted allowed to touch boundary line.

3 Issues with Veterans.
Sachin is currently unable to perform as he used to. I know most of the people usually see India's score and Sachin's score in matc we loose and thats all it takes to blame him for defeat. Hence I do not want to blame him for defeat but just making point that he has not remained mentally tough as he used to and thats why we need to rest him in alternate matches and find replacement.
Saurav made great come back but now all his focus is shifted in making big scores and he is not at all making use of limitations in initial overs. We should allow him to play more freely and not blame for every small score but at the same time its time to find his replacement too.
Harbhajan singh, When the last time you remember him doing anything special (include minnows too) This is time to go, Sorry Bhajji.
Kumble Greatest player India ever produced (Now is Time to go)

4 Captainship and coach.
If team does not look full of self confidence and enthusiasm credit usually goes to this too.
Drawid was also little to headstrong with Sehwag, (Giving chance to Gautam Gambhir would have solved issue)
His main concern should have been Winning and not Sehwag's form. Sehwag would have come good later.

5 Fast bowling.
This is issue and non issue. Problem is that our fast bowling is not bad but its not good either. Worse we do not have good replacements.
No Offense guys but Srishant and Pathan are no replacements for Aagarkar and Zahir. (Agreed Irfan can be 4th batsman allrounder)
We need a bowler like Vaas, McGrath, Akram Brett Lee, Shaul Pollok who gets batsman worried and knows how to force wicket not how toget wicket. None of our bowlers cross 140. Aagarkar is around 135, Zahir is 130, Munaf , Srsanth 120 and Pathan is somewhere 110.
I know speed is not everything but its needed. Lanka has Fernando who bowls 140. Mortaza bowls 140 and inthis big nation we do not have anyone.
We also need accurate bowler and I believe no one except Munaf is accurate to bowl less wides and No's.

6 New Players should not be comfortable
We should Keep Yuvi, Dhoni on Short leash. Currently they are the best we have but no air in the head.

5. Fast Bowling i agree........ just wondering what happened to munaf, in this first series against England, he alone won the match against england in Mohali, i still remember his morning spell , fast swinging yorker, if i am not wrong he got 3/4 lbw that moring and he also troubled one of the best played KP. He troubled KP with his speed and finally got him outi guess caught and bowled. he was bowling 140 in india. but now he harly cross 125 mark in one and in test too. I remember hussain keep on prasing munaf, b'coz of his speed, swing and accuracy. But all of sudden he became a slow bolwer, wht the reason ....... fitness may be. if he is still not fit, pls drop him, give him time to improve his fitness, look at his fielding, he can harldy throw. I not against munaf, i really like munaf, but look at glen he 36/37still one of the safest fielder and our munaf just 23..........
