Life in the cricketing cauldron
by Chandrakant Khandelwal on Mar 26, 2007 03:55 PM   Permalink | Hide replies

It is such a Shame for the Indian Cricketers and the body governing them.

We all Indians feel so patriotic during our matches only to live with the fact that the hopes will be dashed.

Crickters need money, advertisemnts and glamour while the Board is more interested in playing politics and earning huge sums of money.

They cannot understand how does it feels to be defeated especially when Cricket is a religion in our country.

People from all walks of life get disturbed after India loses match. We do not expect to win all the matches but some good performances during the world cup would have reinstated the faith we have in the team.

We respect these Cricketers so much, but i wonder how they dont understand the emotions that fans go through in a India match.

They have made us let down and they should definitely apologise to the whole country about it by not stepping dowm but by increasing their performances in the coming seasons and make India number 1 team in the world.

Now that we have lost the world cup we should eye for the number 1 slot in the ICC rankings.

Hope Dravid and Company realise it.

Cricket should not be a religion. It is just a game. I think Hindus and Muslims largely do not mistrust each other now. So cricket need not be a binding factor.

About reaching the pinnacle, I agree with you. For that we need to support the team. Not burn effigies and stone houses
