You can't get best of both the worlds!! You are looking for fleet footed youngsters to improve your fielding but when they fail with the bat you dump them peremptorily! And then you plump for experience which comes at the expense of fielding! Bangladesh and Sri Lanka can field us out of the game by simply bowling a nagging line and prevent singles. so our guys have to go for big shots and thus get out!! On the other hand we can't prevent singles and twos and thus opposition can put up big scores without taking undue risk. Case in point was Sri Lanka where they went for big shots only after the 42nd over!!
So the solution is a hard tough one : sack all players whose fielding is letting India down. Which includes Kumble, Dravid, Ganguly, Tendulkar and Uthappa!! Get in people who have the potential to be competent in either batting or bowling and who field very well!! How many guys in the current indian team are a patch on Azhar, Robin Singh and Ajay Jadeja?? We are a poor fielding outfit and that has cost us this WC!! Gambhir, Raina, JP Yadav, Venugopal Rao and Kaif are all brilliant fielders. they may not set the house on fire with their batting but then Saqibul, Tamim, Ashraful are not exactly great batsmen, right?? but still beat us comfortably by sticking to basics!!
W can also build our basics right, improve our fitness and fielding standards and do the basics right in running between the wickets!! Case in point are Hayden and gilchirst; all that they do is tap the balla round and complete impossible singles and then go for big hits!! Tose who have seen Ganguly, Sehwag and Dravid know that a quick single is out of the equation!! Eliminate these slow coaches right now, bite the bullet, groom youngsters with talent and India will have a pool of 15 to 20 very good cricketers who will hopefully help them put up decent showing in next WC!!

Ok then how do you explain his failure against Bangla and his 0 against Sri Lanka?? Is Dilhara Fernando the most fearsome fast bowler on earth?? Objectively analyse instead of being biased in favor of your favourite cricketer!! And i'am not saying this cos i'am a Bengali, i say even Ganguly deserves to be dropped from the one day scene!!

i am not just favoring him instead if you go down many messages i am just favouring all of our guys......i just simply mean that he is not spent force to the team......he is in many ways better than other guys......you are looking at narrow perspectives. did yuvraj not score a almost a duck in the same mentioned srilankan match......ok you draw the statistics of not to long but just past 10 matches with respect to bowling batting and fielding all of them and then talk about him.......

Mr. Sandep, Look at the replies to your bit. You are absolutely right and hit the nail on the head when you said that fielding can win matchs. But look at these morons who are stil supporting Tendulkar and others. This team can never improve with Fans like this. Mumbai will go on fire when these idiots God Tendulkar is dropped and likewise for Kolkatta if that Ganguly(The worst fielder ever in the history of cricket) is dropped. So what we can do is sit back and enjoy the downfall of this team with these fat obese lethargic stars puffing and huffing around. I am really enjoying this both seeing their panting and relishing in these fans disappointment.

You are right. Just because a couple of morons, we are still made to believe that Sachin is the cricketing God, while he is definitely not and was perhaps never either (I say this because Sachin hardly ever won matches for India under difficult conditions which players Steve Waugh has done repeatedly). Unless and until we wake up from our dreams, we won't be able to accept this hard reality. Just like in our religion, in criket also we are following the path of worshipping idols, where idealy we must refrain ourselves from this and set the stage for honorable exit of these senior members (including Sachin, Sourav, Kumble). Instead of boasting of the past, we must look forward to the future, or else its going to be a nightmare to think what might hapen if Sachin goes on to play the World Cup in 2011.

So what great thing you have done for our country? Let all of us know that first, then we can decide who comes from the family of morons. By the way, your choice of language clearly shows what element you are made of and what type of upbringing you have got from your family.

We dont have a Waugh or a Bevan or a Kallis or a Hayden among the list of cricketers of the past or from the current ones. We had / have players who are just a few inning wonders and nothing more than that. We have praised these cricketers and taken them to sky high levels. The grit was never there from any past or current cricketer. That has never been our national character.
