The Great Indian Circus

Now it is official .India is out of the WC.The only Indian participation is confined to players of Indian origin representing West Indies and England .
What went wrong?
1.Team Selection-Vengsarkar &Co played it safe after our team%u2019s poor show in West Indies by recalling all the seniors(veterans may be the right word) at the expense of youngsters like Raina and Kaif. You can not lift the WC by playing safe.
2.Disharmony in the team-Even a kid would know that there was no team spirit or unity on display in the ICC(Indian Cricket Team).
3.Ganguly playing second fiddle to Uthappa in the crucial match against SL-it should have been the otherway round.
4.Dravid %u2018s inability to think clearly. Composition of the playing eleven, opting to bat first against Bangladesh, field placements when Vass and Arnold were firing on all cylinders during the death overs, persisting with lesser bowlers even after they(Sachin and Ganguly) bowled 10 overs reasonably well are few examples of his hazy mind set.
5.Overconfidence displayed by Senior players during the Bangladesh tie.
6.Poor fielding.Zaheer,Kumble,Ganguly and Sehwag were found wanting in this department.(Jayasurya and Murali have proved that age does not have any thing to do with the commitment)
7.Sachin has built up a notorious reputation of letting down the team when it matters the most.No wonder he was out for a duck in the crucial SL tie.
8.Confusion personified named Dhoni. He was not sure whether to attack or defend.
9.Format which was not so user friendly. In the earlier versions team India always got enough chances to bounce back.In this WC one unexpected loss greatly affects your chances of qualifying to the second round.
10.None of the youngsters(Sreesanth,Karthik,Irfan Pathan) were given a chance to prove their talent.
To sum it up we did not deserve to be in the top eight,as rightly confessed by Rahul Dravid.
What are the positives?
1.The selectors would definitely be wiser, next time they sit to select the team, not to keep the youngsters out of reckoning.Hopefully the selection would depend on the current form and potential and not on the past laurels.
2.Sachin,Saurav and Anil ,unless they are very thick skinned, would announce their retirement from OD cricket. If they do not do it on their own, they will be kicked out by the selectors.
3.Rahul,who hopefully will get one more term, can build up the right team for ODIs ,which will be entirely different from the test team.
4.Our players, hopefully would take more active part in domestic fixtures which would be good for Indian cricket.
5.Students can concentrate better on their exams
All the best Team India. After all failures are the stepping stones to success.

England has a team that is far different form the teat team with disastrous consequences, their one day team is a bit of a joke nothwithstanding their succewss in australia against a very tired Aussie team!!
If the youngsters are good enough to be in the team on the basis of their batting or bowling, thats fine! Just being good fielders does not qualify you for a position in the one day team!!
