Dear Rediff, you can see that the list is dominated by the batsman. By this I mean that players scoring runs are getting more weight. A better way probably would be to normalise the scores, and take with respect to the two sides playing the match (something similar to net run rate). Another error in this method is that a match might be a slow-scoring one and the value of a say 35 from 70 balls could be much more than another player scoring a 50 from 45 balls in a high scoring game.
