RAJKOT: Six punters, taking bets during the India-Bangladesh World Cup match, were nabbed by police in Porbander on Saturday night.
The punters later alleged the involvement of a BJP worker, who is a member of Porbander nagarpalika, in the betting racket.
The accused, Mahesh Ganatra, Atul Joshi, Meraman Odedara, Salim Bhila, Pratap Dhokai and Jigesh Kotecha were arrested and Rs 26,150 in cash, six mobile phones and a TV set were seized from them.
The accused were taking bets at a pan shop on Mahatma Gandhi Road of the coastal town.
A police source said the accused had disclosed the name of Ketan Karia as the main bookie. Karia is an active member of the BJP and member of Porbander nagarpalika. However, he is absconding.

I knew that you are a big hater of BJP. But there are culprits and goons in every party. You are ver selective of BJP. There are many instances of Congress and other parties involving in Sex racekts and monetary frauds.
