As an Indian fan, I too am just as badly affected by this defeat as the rest of Indians in the world, or in our country. However I feel that burning posters of our "stars" is simply not the best way of dealing with this. What has happened on the field should remain on the field, that is where this problem must be dealt with, not in the streets or the alleyways of their hometowns. I urge you to stop this kind of behavior, if nothing else it would encourage a worse level of performance than Team India is giving us at the moment. Calm the crowds, inspire the team - that's my theory.

Atlast a sensible observation. India cricketers are not Government employees and are not obligated to play for their fans (you become a fan by your choice. We are free to support Australian team or any other team if we like). They play for a private entity called BCCI that is in the BUSINESS of cricket (as it is expected in a capitalistic society).
Yes, our players are getting highly paid but that's because they also bring-in large amount of money to BCCI's coffers. We (the so called educated modern Indians :)) need to understand that sports are market-driven like any other business. If the Indian team is really worthless, then they would not get any advertisement revenues and so the BCCI would be forced to foster competent cricketers. It's as simple as that. Rest is just our emotions (justified to certain extent but not to the extent of burning effigies or damaging homes of cricketers).
