Which cricketer was almost dead after getting hit by a bouncer from a fast bowler in a test match. He was lucky to respond to the on field treatments and survived. Name the batsman and the bowler

Batsman was Nari Contracter.. not sure about the bowler.

The batsman was Ewen chatfield of NZ, and the bowler was Peter Lever of england, this happened in 1975 in NZ!!
