I believe that there was a tip from some one that the reason for his Bowling failure could be the way in which his thumb grips the ball. I am sure he is taking care of the point. While I am hoping that he would gain his Wicket taking deliveries back,I have another suggestion. I strongly believe that he should start bowling some slow spinning stuff. Follwing are the reasons: - Many times we have seen slow bowlers like Gyle,Jaya Soorya, Sachin etc. are very effective under certain conditions and certain pitches. - Irfan can bowl slow flat Left arm spinners ( or break)more accurately - as desired by the captain - than " Sachin" or " Shewag" since Irfan is naturally a bowler. - In that case Irfan would become a good Utility men. His confidence will increase - Also when Irfan bowls some overs of slow stuff he would have enough "Left over energy" for the fielding and for the slogging while batting.
We are not expecting Irfan to bowl the Left Arm spinners like Bedi ( Revolving the ball around an axis which is perpendicular to the seam). We expect him to bowl slow accurate flat stuff like Jaya Soorya or Ghavri.

rather he should try to ball fast balling atleast between 135 plus.he should work hard on his grip and should avoid balling a bad line or comfortable short piches.he z a swing baller, not a cutter specialist.its absoloutely absured to compare him with jaisurya.well on comparison with saymonds,i ll like to say that saymonds is basically a baller who balls off cutter and coz of strong soldiers he can ball fast and slow too with 4-5 steps of run up.but pathan is baller who z basically balls good inswing -out swing.can get revese swing.he needs to ball faster and work on straight seem and avoid bad line and loose short piches.that sit

It is not the comparison between Jaya Soorya and Pathan. Jaya Soorya is one of the bowlers who is not an orthodox spinner ( Revolving the ball around an axis which is perpendicular to the seam); but who is fairly effective in one dayers. I accept that Pathan produces (or used to Produce) good swinging deliveries. But this is with new ball and in conditions favourable to swing bowling. If he has to reverse swing the ball he has to increase his pace to 140 . In fact I have not seen Indian Bowlers improve on their pace ( unlike cricketers like Imran Khan who came as Fast medium bowlers and later became a Fast Bowler)after coming to the highest level.

Thanks for your response. Well, Do you know Gary Sobers used to bowl spinners also. Another example is Ghaveri. What about Symonds of Australia. Sachin Tendulkar ( Bowls leg cutters, leg Spin and off spin). Not only in cricket.
