Does Mr. Vengsarkar has a dislike for Pathan ? I am sure he has. Sending Irfan from South Africa when Sehawg was retained. Not given a chance against the West Indies and Sri lanka. How does he prove his fitness ? Playing in just one Deodhar Trophy. Vengsarkar you are playing with the carrier of a young cricketer.If Pathan was unfit, why was he chosen in the world cup team? You are putting unnecessary presure on Pathan. Is this because you want to include Ramesh Powar ?

had he wanted to include powar he had could have easily done it before...without causing much furore.. Much eye brows were raised only becasue Powar was left out... He was the only player who was left out despite having performed well ...he performed better than kumble/bhaji whenever they played together...has a fifty in his name in limited opportunities he got...almost took 2 wickets every match he played..still he was left out... Apart from people who know and understand the game no one complained...
We are only debating about Kaifs, Rainas, Pathans, sehwags... all out of form since last year...
So despite having stats all in favour of Powar, he was not selected...
Marathi lobby seems really at work !?! ;)

PS: I am big fan of Pathan myself, would still want him in the team even if he has to be prefered over Pawar, but please do not accuse us of the regional bias..in general we are the last people to do so (leave out exceptions here and there). We dont spare even if our regional heros (Tendular booing at Wankhade, when he didn't perform) We are not diplomatic, may not say things which are pleasing to hear, but we will be very honest and upfront. Thats perhaps the price Vengsarkar is paying.

I agree with you sameer. This is not the way to include Powar in the team, if selectors really want to do. As Pathan is a medium pacer and Powar is spinner, how can they include him now? and we have already 2 spinner in 15. They should have rested Kumble to include Powar at that time. If any seemer injures, then it will be a tough job other seemers.
